  1. Not sure how they got the numbers, but I haven't seen one KIA EV in CA? More like camry or civic. My guess is fuzzy math. If they sold 1000 Kias and every other state sold 100 that means it sold 900% more than the national avg.??
  2. Yeah, My brother and Father both fuel up at Shell (Carson & Studebaker) with Propel and have nothing but good to say about it. Hell, with almost double the cetane it's no wonder it's "magical" fuel. We only have so much cooking oil, so I don't see them putting too much heat on Dino-diesel. They will be profitable, but in the grand scheme it's not likely they are a major player.
  3. Hopefully there will be some relief soon Steve. As I mentioned, a huge plant (270,000 barrels/ day ) will be starting their FCC back up on Dec 30th after an unplanned shutdown. It usually takes about 7-10 days to get back on spec and fully ramp'd up, but with Mobil still down until at least March we won't see low $2 unfortunately. On a side note, did you guys see the proposal to add a $1/gallon gas tax while prices are low so we could help ease the debt.. unfucking believable.
  4. That will change after January. Exxon Mobil lost their FCC (fluid catalytic cracker) last Feb and a few other refinery's (which I'm not at liberty to mention) have also lost their FCC's due to part failures or shutdowns. One major will be fired back up late December and that will bring 4 million gallons/ day of fuel back into the pool, thus driving down cost. The FCC's make the majority gasoline at oil refinery's. Mobil isn't expected to be up until late 1Q.
  5. They better hurry with the build. I need a mid size truck by Dec 2017. As of right now GMC and Tacoma are in my crosshairs.
  6. Same thing was said about the Chrysler 300. It didn't stop sales at all. I'm all for a "poor mans" version of a $1/4 million car.
  7. Yes, it will be fine. Don't plan on getting any money back on it at trade in.
  8. I had 33.5" BFG's on my FX4 and averaged 13.5-14 mpg 50/50 (city / freeway) . I kept up with the flow of traffic and never dogged it from a red light. Basically you'll be in the turbo's quite often if you keep up or slightly ahead of traffic. I'm guessing the new Raptor will be close to the weight of an older FX4 due to the wider body, upgraded suspension and larger tires. I don't believe the 10 speed is going to be the magical MPG maker... I hope I'm wrong, but very skeptical.
  9. I don't think you'll see much improvement in the MPG dept. Tech Yes, MPG, no.
  10. will they give it some Nuts under the hood?
  11. True, I was thinking "Sport Edition" meaning activities like mountain biking etc. where you can use a bike rack in the back, not necessarily being a tow monster.
  12. What drives me nuts is that the SPORT doesn't come with a trailer hitch. How can you have Sport and not offer a hitch, isn't that what a sport edition vehicle should come with? You can get the 2.7L Titanium with a hitch, but not a Sport. The Titanium doesn't look as good. Hopefully Ford will add it later?? I was wrong on the 2.7 for Titanium. Just a 2.0 is offered.
  13. A ton of these cars are popular because they can flat tow behind a RV. I'm guessing Buick has lots of the retired RV customers. I've also seen a few Souls in campgrounds.
  14. I'm just so bummed the Edge sport doesn't have a trailer hitch option. I don't like the Limited chrome pieces. decisions decisions in two years
  15. good, I'm glad they fixed the front end. That was the Major part that left me desired for something else. I kinda got over it, but still not happy aboutt he front of my mini car. this should fix it. It'll be a tough choice between edge and this.
  16. Really?? The 2.0L EB screams in the Escape. It would shame the V6 she has ( i believe it's a second quicker in the 1/4 mile and 0-60). I wonder if it's the big torque band that comes on heavy and smooth unlike NA engines that have the "2 stroke" powerband?
  17. Yep, but even less camo on the doors and fenders. I could see actual white paint. The hood, grille and rear were well covered as in these pics. They had all those sensors and monitors inside and outside of the car.
  18. That would definitely match the loosely disguised one I saw on the freeway a while back.
  19. You nailed it. We drove by a test mule last month in down town LA. It had all the sensors everywhere. My wife couldn't get a clear pic because they were too many lanes over. It does look like a large Fusion, but the fenders are very aggressive. reminds me of the Aussie Falcon fenders. Very sharp angles. The greenhouse was well covered, but the only thing on the front covered up was the grille. I could see heavy Fusion influence, but it definitelty looked aggresive. Much more so than todays model. It had a sporty stance and looked "beefy/brawny". In fact, looking at pictures of the 2014 falcon it looks similar.
  20. They are actually building quite a few Natural Gas powered cargo ships now. They are even building a bunch here in CA for the Jones Act.
  21. compass????...we aren't Christopher Columbus for god's sake. You know where your going mister
  22. my 2011 truck did that especially under the pipe racks as I was leaving work. It seems the surrounding metal interfered? At home is was spot on and in open parking lots. Our new cars (2014-15) are even better. Hell, my 2011F150 wouldn't allow the drivers window to roll down manually after a remote start hiccup. That Effing truck was not Ford's bread and butter. i hope they cleaned their act up? as noted from above, i never set my parking brake and auto start bworks fine on both new vehicles. Even the F150 would start w/out it.,
  23. how are those speed cameras even legal?? I would need this option, otherwise I'd rack up 20 tickets just getting to work.
