mike_in_va
Consumer Reports already has a write-up on this: http://blogs.consumerreports.org/cars/2009...ord-fiesta.html Oddly enough The car we drove was a hatchback, with a 120-horsepower, 1.6-liter engine and six-speed manual transmission. DeLaGarza said that the U.S. market will likely get a larger engine. Huh? I didn't know they had a larger engine for this. Are they going to use the Focus engine or something? The official website already promised us the 1.6 with VCT. I think that is the best choice for America.
rfruth
good ole CR (ugh) - the 2.0 from the Focus, hadn't heard that - is the 1.6 used (in the US) or is it new ?
mike_in_va
Most sources (including Ford's official US Fiesta website) have the US Fiesta getting the same 1.6 gas engine as the Euro Fiesta. I'd have dismissed this comment about a larger engine except that it came from the Fiesta brand manager himself.
