SysEng
Any ideas out there what might cause a ECC unit to leave the temp control stuck in the max heat position? You can set the temp any way you want, you always get max temp. All other aspects of the HVAC ( e.g. A/C unit ) are functioning according to specs. SysEng
HVAC ECC diagnostics. Push OFF and FLOOR simulatenously then hit AUTO within 2 seconds. Doing this brings a 025 code ( the electric motor that moves teh temp control door is bad ) OTOH, it seems to have cleared the problem... I'm not being fried in the hot sun. :o Looking at the motor, I see that Ford really does like to lose customers. That is a pretty small motor to be running back and forth on a minute by minute basis under computer control as it varys temps. Its also located in such a way that replacement requires removal of the entire dash! Evidently, this is a very common problem on many Ford products. Lots of smart design work there. And this has been going on for at least 12 years without corrections. Hello Mr. Ford :poke: You folks awake over there? Or is this part of the master plan to go Chapter 11???
