Auto-Dimming Review Mirror

Is there anyway to adjust the sensitivity of the auto-dimming rearview mirror on my 2010 Fusion Sport? It doesn't dim nearly enough in the dark. And if there is any daylight at all, even if it's twilight outside, it doesn't dim at all. So if I get someone behind me, it doesn't dim at all. Often I just tilt it out of view, which isn't the right answer. The flip mirror in my 89 LX 5.0, in my 2005 Escape, and in the old Altima dimmed the light WAY better than this. In fact, I was out in the Escape tonight and forgot I could flip my mirror. I'd just gotten used to having blinding lights in my mirror.

ps: Almost 5,000 miles since I picked it up on September 22. Other than this mirror issue, which is really just an annoyance, I have absolutely NO problems. It's averaging 21mpg (it's AWD) with a mix of anout 2/3 highway and 1/3 hilly country roads w/lots of stop signs and 35mph limits.

Done, and done, a long time ago... Didn't make any difference on mine.

Same here. It is swung up to the highest position, then adjusted to my height & line-of-vision. It's just not an effective dimmer. Also, even in it's highest position, it really hangs down low, effectively blocking a sizeable portion of my field of vision.

The good news? This is my only complaint about the car after 5,500 miles. OK, that and the gas mileage -- 21 overall with 2/3 highway driving, and the other 1/3 hilly in-town roads. It's as low as 15-17 on weekends when I am not on the turnpike. OK, and the final bitch, which is that the Sport came with standard leather while bun warmers are part of a $3k package, while they are standard on the SEL. Stupid. But that's REALLY all my complaints. Tight, flawless execution, fun as hell to drive.
