  1. Yeah, Eco-something. I have a feeling the only way you're going to get V6s is to spend big dollars on a Taurus or something similar. There is such a huge push ti increase MPGs thanks to Obama's new rules that performance is going to go away. Welcome back to the late 1970's!
  2. Talk is you'll only get 4-cylinders in the all-new 2013 models. All Eco-Tec turbos of one kind or another.
  3. I'm guessing that since so much of the powertrain comes from Japan that maybe parts are hard to come by now? That catastophe over there shut down many important factories. And since Ford can make a lot more money selling a Lincoln than they can a Ford, they are using what parts they can get on the more expesive car. Just speculaing here.
  4. Not me. I needed the AWD and they don't make a Hybrid + AWD. Wish the did.
  5. NAPA has the cabin air filter. P/N FIL4367. List $8.79
  6. Because you didn't pay the extra $$$ for the automatic climate control. It is optional on the Sport model.
  7. Zacks Equity Research, On Thursday October 14, 2010, 3:45 pm EDT Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F - News) plans to eliminate a third of its 1,200 Lincoln dealers in the U.S. The automaker has 500 Lincoln dealerships in the metropolitan markets while 700 dealerships are located in rural areas. So far, 175 dealerships from the urban areas have been reported to be eliminated. Ford has decided to market the Lincoln models in 130 urban areas where demand for luxury good is very strong. In order to improve the customer services, the automaker will ask the remaining dealerships to upgrade their showrooms and services. Ford has decided to meet each of its Lincoln dealers twice by the end of the year to advise them about the required investment to be made for the upgrading program. Dealers have revealed that the renovations could cost about $2 million per showroom. Ford has decided to expand its luxury Lincoln line-up at the cost of its Mercury line-up, which will be phased out by the end of this year. The company plans to launch as many as 7 new Lincoln vehicles in the next 4 years, including a small car model in 2014. In late 2010, Ford will introduce the restructured 2011 MKX crossover, followed by another six significantly refreshed vehicles. The company will include V-6 engine, advanced fuel-efficient transmissions and EcoBoost engines in all its new Lincoln line-ups. On the other hand, Ford will suspend production of its Mercury branded vehicles in the fourth quarter of this year. The company will divert the resources from Mercury towards its core Ford brand besides enhancing the Lincoln brand. Lincoln is the only surviving luxury line after Ford has sold off Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin and Volvo. As a result, Ford expects the brand to compete with other notable luxury lines, such as Toyota Motor’s (NYSE: TM - News) Lexus, General Motors’ (Other OTC: MTLQQ.PK - News) Cadillac and Daimler AG’s (Other OTC: DDAIF.PK - News) Mercedes- Benz. 8. Weathertech are more expensive because they are so much better than anything else. Made In U.S.A. too!
  9. I don't get it. If you need a 100% perfect car, and can't deal with a recall or a problem along the way, then why not just buy another "perfect" Honda?
  10. Splash Guards, Molded, Front Pair Part Number: AE5Z-16A550-AA Should be $45-$55 depending on the dealer. They take 10 minutes to install, so don't pay them to install them! Go here and find a participating dealer: 2010 Fusion Accessories
  11. Changed mine after 15K miles. Man was there a lot of junk in it! As an allergy sufferer, I'm sure glad Ford chose to put these in the cars.
  12. What type of moron puts one set of floor mats on top of another? Why is "user error" always the manufacturer's fault antway?
  13. Looks like any wheel with a 114.3mm x 5 bolt pattern, 17x7 with 40mm offset, or 17x7.5 with 45m offset will fit. That being said, all the current Fusion/Milan wheels will fit your MKZ. 2006-up Mustang wheels will fit as well.
  14. It isn't hard to get the computer read-out to show numbers like that. But it is usually optimistic, and those would obviously be short-term numbers. No way you are going to see those kind of numbers for an average.
  15. Get under there and look at it! If it isn't obvious to you how it comes apart at that point, then you probably should not be attempting the job at all. In the time it took to write the posts above, you could have taken it apart, replaced the filter, and put it back together.
  16. Well, I don't know exactly what they sent me, because the packaging is gone now. I do know that I went to that web site Ford Direct Online , found what I needed, ordered them, and that p/n is on my invoice. They fit perfect. on my '10 SEL. I'm not sure how I got the right flaps for my car, but I did. Also, if you go here Part Locator and do a search for your part numbers AE5Z-16A550-AA & AE5Z-16A550-BA, neither one appears to be valid. I know they are good part numbers, because I googlled them and several dealers have them. Maybe the dealer that sold the splash guards to me goes more by make/year/model than by actual part numbers? The whole part number thing is nuts. Plus, why did it take them almost a year to come out with these? I think these are good indications as to how totally screwed-up all of American industry is these days.
  17. Yes, they are a set of 4 to fit an SE/SEL/Hybrid. Not a Sport. I don't know the p/n of the individual flaps. The set of 4 came from Ford Direct Online. Check the web site: 6E5Z-16A550-AA
  18. I finally got the molded splash guards for my 2010 SEL. They fit perfectly and were very easy to install. Part number is 6E5Z-16A550-AA for the set of four. EDIT: This may not be the correct part number. Read further down the board!
  19. That's going to happen, guards or no guards.
  20. Done, and done, a long time ago... Didn't make any difference on mine.
  21. Yep I agree it is a really crappy "self-dimming" mirror. I much orefer the "driver operated" kind. Hi-tech gadgets that don't really work piss me off! Whenever I get this car to the dealer I'm going to tell them to replace it.
  22. All the hub centric rings these days are either thermoplastic or anodized aluminum. All they really do is help center the wheel on the hub. Chances are almost any aftermarket wheel will require them, because they machine most of the wheels to the largest hole needed to fit most cars, and then it is sleeved down with the rings to fit cars like Fusions with smaller hubs. The Tire Rack package I have has the rings. They won't cause any problems.
  23. Red Candy. That sounds nice. Can't wait to see what it looks like. Hopefully its a darker, richer red than what they offer now.

    Wax smear

Don't know who supplies paint to Ford, but every new car has clearcoat now. All the base-coat paints are dead flat. Without clear on top of the base-coat it looks almost like tinted primer. Clear coat is nothing but a type of urethane paint. It needs waxing too, just like any other paint does.
