rkisler
General Motors will announce that they intend to build electric motors in Maryland at the White Marsh facility. "GM has decided that batteries, electric motors and power electronics will be core to GM," said Tom Stephens, GM's vice chairman and head of global vehicle development. It's going to be interesting to see what pieces Ford and GM consider to be core technologies as electric is taking off. I haven't heard of any plans by Ford to insource motors. The motors are integral to the Aisin CVT on the Escape and Fusion. But Ford looks to be building the box for the c-cars in Michigan. I'm assuming the motors will come from outside. NickF1011
Heard this news on the radio this morning as White Marsh is relatively local to me. Could be good for several hundred jobs.
