chalissery
I own a 2007 Exp ST XLT, 4.0 Litre which has done 112000km. From the beginning I have noticed that the transmission used to behave a bit funny. If you shift the lever from P to R, there will be a jerk and some times the shifter will be so tight. And some times I used to feel that the car dosent move as fast as it should while accelerating. The typical feeling is like driving a stick shift car with slightly worn clutch plate. Recently, it got stuck at gear 3 and whouldnt shift. I took it to the dealer and he found out that the harness connector on the shifter solenoid had two broken pins (rusted and broken) which was causing this. Is there a chance for water entering the connector. I had a recent braekdown due to water entry to the engine and had to replace the engine! But this connector is well inside the transmission sump and I do not see any chance of water getting indside it to corrode it!!
betaiota
Not sure about water entering, but we've discussed trans problems on here before, usually fixed by the most recent TSB's. I hope they checked those out when you had your engine replaced!
