DearbornDerek
A two-tiered wage structure for new assembly line employees was part of the 2007 agreement - new hires earn on the order of $15/hour, instead of, what was it, $25/hr? From the sound of things, they're allowing custodial work to be outsourced altogether. That's about all I know and probably at least partly wrong, but that's the gist as I remember it (and briefly looked from various sources). New hires will start at around $15 an hour, though I don't know any new hires. We have mostly super temps right now. They will move up in pay and top out at about $20-$25/hr. The work force can only consist of 20% at lower tier. Once that is met, the highest seniority second tier will move up to top tier when people in that tier retire.
