cold air intake

....but you can never go wrong adding a cold air intake.

 

Other than automatically voiding your engine warranty, that is. As per one of the recent TSB's.

 

You have some chance of not voiding your warranty if you install a 'no-tune' intake. Trouble is that most of the gain comes from the tune and not from the intake.

what is realistic gain in Rear Wheel HP with an aftermarket cold air kit - both the "no tune" and one that requires a re-flash/tune. As per comment re tune giving the most difference I presume there is a fairly wide difference between the 2 types?

Typically, the most you're going to see without a tune is 5-10 HP. Perhaps 20 on the generous end with a tune, but more of that is probably from the tune itself and not the intake.
