Congrats to them. Lot of happy Ranger owners out here because of them!!! ...was hoping to get 3-4 more yrs out of my '99 Ranger w/123K miles on it but decided to buy one of the remaining 2011 Rangers since I wouldn't been able to purchase another new one "then". Don't think Ford did a very smart thing here, but alas it's all about the numbers...
jc21
Congrats to them. Don't think Ford did a very smart thing here, but alas it's all about the numbers... Congrats on the new Ranger- what kind? ............. I'm curious what current 4.0L owners are getting for mpg. I'm in much the same situation as you- my '02 XLT 2.3L reg. cab has 137,000+ on it. Went 100,000 on the original Wilderness HT tires and the front brakes went 136,000+- it doesn't owe me a thing. Been looking at new ones and it seems with the incentives set up the way they are, the price difference between an I-4 and a 4WD V-6 isn't all that much. "Don't think Ford did a very smart thing here, " ......... I'd agree through some here won't. I don't regard the T-6 as a real replacement ....... it's too close in size and price to the F-150. I'll be curious to see what Ford does; with the higher mpg requirements and GM coming in with a new Colorado I can't see Ford leaving this market segment vacant. p38fln
4.0 L gets about 16.5 - 17 MPG on the interstate, never really bothered to calculate in town
David84
I hate to see the ranger stop production. It is a wonderful and very reliable truck. It will be missed greatly.
