Haavok1
The letter says OnThursday April 5, 2012 testimony from all witnesses for the equality of sacrifice arbitration hearing was concluded. Attorneys for the UAW and Ford Motor Co have rested their cases and have until June 25 2012 to submit written closing arguments to the arbitrator. A timetable has not been given for a ruling once those final arguments have been submitted but we believe that it will be no sooner than 30 days and no longer than 90 days based on past practice. From the begining of this process, Bob King and the UAW attorneys have maintained their belief that our case for equal sharing in any reinstated concessions was a solid one. In addition we are confident that the case we presented was torough, and the deliberate and time-consuming process is an indicator of the serious merits of the case. The testimony given by our witnesses, along with the cross examination of the company's witnesses should, we believe, paint a very clear picture and understanding of the equality of sacrifice language and the violation of such language for which we were grieved. Going forward, it is important to keep in mind that the abitrator in this case is an independent thinker, and no one can predict what determination he will make. We do know, however, that the arbitrator will have to first rule on the case itself, and should he decide in our favor, any settlement will be a seperate ruling in itself. We understand that this has been a painstakingly long process, but we appreciate the overwhelming support and patience of the membership, and we ask that you continue to do so in the coming weeks It is signed by Jimmy Settles
