re5513
I thought I would report that I observed that my sticker (with blend date) was available about 1 week prior to the actual build. I've seen folks report that the sticker was available on the date the car was built and I've seen other reports (trucks) where it was available 1 week prior to the build. In my case my car was "scheduled to day 2/13/2014" but then was rescheduled to 2/22. The sticker showed up on 2/15. YMMV.
murphy62
Under normal conditions (no holidays the following week) the sticker is created 7 days before the build date.
re5513
That makes sense and certainly was the case here. The DORA order date for the build was 1/13/14.
re5513
Ford ETIS reports the build date as: 2/23/2014. This is interesting because 2/23 is a Sunday. I'm guessing that the actual physical build occurred on 2/22, exactly as indicated by the Blend date. By Monday 2/24 it was "awaiting shipment". By Friday 2/28 it was on a rail car and had passed through Fort Wayne, IN. I know it can still take a few days (or more) to get it off the train. Here in CO, they will usually put cars on an auto-transport truck to get them to their final destination along Colorado's Front Range. re5513
Built on 2/22, the vehicle rolled into Rolla, CO (Denver) on Sunday 3/9. The ETA was bumped out to 3/20. That sounded a bit conservative that they would allot 10 days for a 50 mile road trip by truck transport. After a few phone calls, the Focus arrived at the dealer in Colorado Springs on 3/13, exactly two months from the DORA date of 1/13. If you build one of these cars in the USA your dealer will likely quote you 6-8 weeks. That would appear to be an accurate assessment. YMMV.
