FORSCAN?? or is it FORDSCAN,, what is it for?
murphy62 replied to OREGUNFIRE's topic in F-Series SuperDuty Forum
My memory is telling me that the maximum speed for the electric motors is 85 mph. Above that it has to switch to direct drive from the ICE. -

It allows accessing the internals of the car via the OBD2 port. If you don't know what you are doing you could make a mess that would be expensive to recover from. I used it to enable the DRLs in a 2013 Fusion Energi when the dealer refused to do it. By default it is read only and can't cause problems IF you have a quality OBD2 adapter. The ones that are inexpensive are an invitation to trouble. There is an extra license required to be able to write back to the car. All of my comments are with respect to the Windows version. I know nothing about the version that runs on a cell phone. -
Plan ahead. I rewired my garage 3 times over the years. 20 amp 240 volt circuit for 2013 Ford Fusion Energi. (12 gauge copper wire) 50 amp 240 volt circuit for 2014 Tesla Model S (6 gauge copper wire) 100 amp 240 volt circuit for 2016 Tesla Model S90D (2 gauge copper wire) Fortunately no rewiring was required for the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium AWD ER. The voltages in the US are 120/240 and have been since the power grid was created.

When a build is scheduled it means that they have all of the parts scheduled to arrive for the build. They don't have the additional parts the options add would require. Talk to your dealer to see if he will allow you to place another order, with the additional delay, for what you want. He might agree since he would have the original order on his lot to sell to someone else.

GM sues Ford for "BlueCruise" name

Since when can a common verb be trademarked? Maybe the cruise lines will go after GM. -
Buying extended warranty - Opinions

Yes it is valid at every Ford dealer. A few dealers sell them at reasonable prices. The rest try to get as much as they can for one. -
Production Week Scheduling Information

With a production week of 6/28 the sticker should be available for download on 6/26. -
It also solves the problems of not putting all of the lug nuts on to get a faster pit stop and loose lug nuts.

Ford Vehicle Ordering & Scheduling Process

I assume the answer to my question is that the public site is not kept up to date on a timely basis. -
Ford Vehicle Ordering & Scheduling Process

Question about the new, to me anyway, ordering process. I ordered a Mach-E Premium on January 6. On February 18 I received an email that said it was scheduled to be built the week of May 24. On the website I used to place the order it says Scheduled for Production Week of with a green check mark in front of Scheduled. Is this website typically behind on data updates? The green check mark appeared at the same time I received the email. -

Trains are slow and don't take a direct route. My last car came from Mexico via an interchange yard in Chicago to reach Philadelphia PA. Mexico to Chicago was on Union Pacific. Chicago to Philadelphia was on CSX. -
Did you wait until the ambient lights turned off. A single LED is not going to cause the battery to die. The multitude of microprocessors that are always on will do that job. I find that if my car will be unused for more than a week I have to connect a smart battery charger to the 12 volt battery.

With the car off open the passenger door, get in, and open the glove box. After a period of time, that I did not measure, there was a click and the light went out. It appears to be connected to the ambient lighting circuit. It's an LED so the load is minimal.

Set your cellphone to record a video and place it in the glove box with the camera pointing up. Close the glove box. Wait 10 seconds. Open the glove box. Stop the recording. Play the recording and you will have the answer.

Tesla Offers Infotainment Upgrade That Removes Radio

The video on the screen only works when the car is in park. They must have hired a bunch of iPad developers from Apple. -
Check your owner.ford.com account. My 2013 has an outstanding Field Service Action to replace the APIM if it fails.

Hmmm. Tesla lets Ford use the "frunk" designation if Ford lets Tesla use the "Model E" designation????

Say What? Tesla Model 3 range drastically decreases in rain?

Water is not compressible. The tires have to move the water out of the way. It takes energy to do that. The deeper the water is the higher the energy required. This affects all cars, not just electric cars. When the water doesn't move out of the way fast enough the tire starts hydroplaning. Hydroplaning means there is no friction between the tire and the road. That usually does not end well. -
When I bought my 2013 Energi Ford required an electric certified dealer to install a charger on the outside of the service building. I was never able to use it because it was always blocked by cars waiting for service. I am certain that was intentional. They expanded the building and the charger disappeared. Now the Fusion line is being terminated so Ford has nothing for me. I have no interest in trucks and SUVs.

Hmmm. I have a 2013 Ford Fusion Energi PHEV that gets 21 miles all electric. I put gas in it once a year. When I realized that Ford was not going to improve the Energi I bought a 2016 Tesla that gets 270 miles on a charge. I also have 10 kW of PV solar panels on the roof of my house. Since September 2013 they have produced 69,000 kWh. For the record I hate SUVs and trucks.

They are not meeting the competition. The Honda Clarity PHEV is rated at 47 miles on electric. A friend bought one and got over 50.
