07 Eddie Bauer Expedition
Looking for some opinions and facts about the 20" chrome clad rims on my expedition. Yesterday I went to change the rotors and pads and all the lug nuts were seized up and I had one hell of a time getting them off!!! One of the nuts twisted in half and I had to torch it off resulting in melting the plastic chrome clad cover!!! ? I priced a rim on eBay today and they are between 350-500 bucks! The rim appears to be aluminum, does anyone know If the rim is the exact design under the cladding? I was thinking about removing all the cladding and polishing the rims under them if are Indeed aluminum! Any opinion or insight would be much appreciated! Thank u! spotdog14
I'm pretty sure its a steel wheel under the plastic cladding. Also from everything I have read online and heard its a real PITA to get the cladding off the wheel. If it were me, I would just pick up a nice set of F-150 rims that are real aluminum or chrome. NLPRacing
I have the same wheels, they are aluminum underneath the cladding. I have no idea what it looks like under the cladding, but if you remove it from your wheel, post pictures here.
