pictor Posted April 20, 2015 Share Posted April 20, 2015 We just made our first trip to Maine with the boat in tow. We having been towing an 18 ft Eastern to Maine with our 2007 Edge for the last 8 years and it always felt a little overmatched. Our 2015 Escape seemed to handle the task with aplomb. The fuel economy during towing was similar to the Edge but the Escape seemed to handle the hills much better, actually dropping down in gear very infrequently compared to my experience towing the same boat with the 2007 Edge. The 2 liter ecoboost may be better towing engine than the old 3.5 L V6 due to the flatter torque curve.
