Husker Fan
All of the stories on this board are very concerning. We ordered our car in late July and it was built on 9/26. It was immediately sent to Quality Purgatory. After 8 weeks, I was strongly considering cancelling the order and getting another brand. This is the FIRST FORD/Lincoln we have ever purchased. Then I met a very nice Lincoln Concierge and she became my advocate. She placed another order for my vehicle and we are waiting for it to be produced. Hopefully all of the quality issues have been addressed in the assembly line and we can avoid purgatory and quality issues. With all this said, these negative experiences on this site still make me wonder if I am doing the right thing. Still keep pondering if I should "cut and run"....... Someone please give me a reason to be confident in waiting for the Aviator. Edited November 17, 2019 by Husker Fan
honestabe
Hi @Husker Fan. I got mine last week and have encountered zero quality issues. I love it. Keep in mind that most people who haven't run into problems won't be posting on forums. Good luck!
CoolScoop
Ihttps://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2019/11/12/ford-shifts-past-bumpy-explorer-debut/2499839001/ According to this article the rough launch is finally behind them and they're now pumping out Explorers/Aviators at nearly one per minute! Professor1234
Indeed. Placed my order on 6/28 for my 5th Lincoln since 2013 and my third Special Order. Vehicle was built 9/20 but has since been held on Ramp 6. Next Tuesday will be 60 days since build and I’m told there are thousands ahead of mine waiting to be released. Not really sure what I should do.
Husker Fan
Thank your for the words of encouragement! We looked at all the mid size luxury SUV's available on the market and the Aviator was our favorite!! We really prefer to take delivery. Thanks again!! Littlematty
If anyone has a car in quality control we were told from our dealer that all vehicles at Dearborn we’re going back to Chicago to go through the line again. We were lucky to get some minor alignment issues that the dealer addressed right away. Our family love our new aviator and wouldn’t have gotten another luxury brand built for families.
