2018 Navigator Cooling by upgrading to Tow Package Radiator?

So I had a leak in my heater hoses so dealer changed above and below.  I guess the plastic cracked in the joints.  I was wondering if upgrading to the tow package radiator wouldn't require more than just the bigger radiator or will I need new shrouds etc.  or am I really just wasting time since the thermostat really controls heat.

The HD radiator is thicker than the standard one.

 

The engine thermostat does not control heat - once it opens.  Any coolant temperature above the opening thermostat temperature has to controlled or lowered by the radiator and its fans.
