FreezerBurn Posted November 17, 2023 Share Posted November 17, 2023 So I had a leak in my heater hoses so dealer changed above and below. I guess the plastic cracked in the joints. I was wondering if upgrading to the tow package radiator wouldn't require more than just the bigger radiator or will I need new shrouds etc. or am I really just wasting time since the thermostat really controls heat. 1999 White C5 Coupe Posted December 3, 2023 Share Posted December 3, 2023 The HD radiator is thicker than the standard one. The engine thermostat does not control heat - once it opens. Any coolant temperature above the opening thermostat temperature has to controlled or lowered by the radiator and its fans. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
