What's up with this???

UAW LOCAL 249 BULLETIN

All hourly SUV production and support area employees (unless notified by your supervisor) will be on layoff from September 29, 2008 through October 5, 2008. All employees are scheduled to return to work the week of October 6, 2008 at your regularly scheduled start time.

Anyone have any insider information?

Yes. You do, that communication is meant for employees, not the general public. The plant makes more than one vehicle, one model line can be laid off while the other works. Don't be concerned about what happens in the plants. You're only going to get yourself worked up for nothing.

Thanks for the link. I am going to make it one of my "favorites". I would be curious to know which "model line" is going to be idle. Its nice to keep up with what's happening at the plant.

Danger! Danger Will Robinson! Knowing too much information about the vehicle production process can be dangerous!

The preceding message was brought to you by all the people on this forum who post comments designed to make people like you and me feel like complete idiots for daring to seek the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about what's really going on in regards to the production process of our (yes, I deliberately used "our" as in the possessive) vehicles. :shades:

There is nothing wrong with knowing the truth. Assuming you know the truth based on a communication that wasn't directed at or meant for you is a different story...continued...

...continued...because I'm sick and tired running around here dispelling rumours and assumptions.

I'm thinking it's a good time to put the tracking on indefinite hiatus.

ViperPilot, I am deeply sorry for all the negative posts toward Ford that have been posted here. I cannot speak for any of them but I will go on record as saying that I appreciate all you have done in the past. If these actions cause you to stop providing this service (on your free time) then it is a very bad thing indeed. I hope someone feels badly about their childish behaviors to have provoked this type of response.

Thanks again for all your efforts. Some of us truly appreciate Ford, its employees and even the dealers that help us drive wonderful Ford products.

Hey Viper Pilot...I've seen all that you've done for many, many people and just wanted to write to say thanks! You've provided a wonderful service and have been generous with your personal time.

Like many, I am eager for my 09 FEHL and have grown increasingly frustrated with delays (I'm still awaiting a VIN, but have not been waiting nearly as long as most). Sorry that people's frustration was misdirected toward you.

Thanks again for your service - it's been appreciated.

VP Thank you for all your help to the Ford customer community. Your selfless dedication is uncommon in todays world and has been greatly appreciated.
