  1. Something new recently started to happen around the time we replaced our 12v battery. We are used to the engine going to EV mode with the A/C on, when not in econ mode, when the passenger compartment gets to the set temp. And the A/C has always blown 5-7deg's warmer while in EV mode. (Possibly the scroll valve issue I just saw in a thread on Escape City?) Could never convince multiple dealership techs that we thought there was something wrong there. But since we got our Escape back in October 2008, it has never gone from engine to EV mode while the defogger is blowing (Unless in Econ mode? We used it so little I really can't remember if it did). Now, with the A/C, and Econ mode off, our Escape goes into EV mode without getting anywhere near the set temperature, and does the same thing while the defogger is on. I pulled the DTC codes and there was nothing, except the right outboard parking assist sensor that I still need to get around to replacing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 2. Hi, I am interested in buying one of these two CMax Hybrids. The dealership salespeople both say they are available for sale but don't know when they will be built and delivered. Could someone please provide me some info on either of these two cars? Thank you. 1FADP5DU8HL117140 1FADP5DU8HL117141
  3. Hey GaryG, Thank you so much for shedding light on those codes for me. Mike
  4. 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid B00A0 B1211 B1213 B1231 Was also told that codes came up indicating replacment of the following: L/SEAT BELT RETRACTOR L/SEAT BETL BUCKLE R/SEAT PAD OCSM Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Just a quick and unpleasant update on trying to get DRL activated. Stopped by the dealership last week to get the Sync update, 5K tire rotation and an oil change. I know, its not due till 10K but I've always done the first one early, a habit from the old "break in" oil change days. Asked the service manager if he could turn on DRL on an 09 FEHL and he said it shouldn't be a problem. When all was done he told me that for some reason the SCN tool software wouldn't let him do it. The option to turn on DRL was there but it was "greyed out". Said something about Ford starting to put regional restrictions into their SCN software and that I would have to find someone with Vermont or Canadian software on their SCN tool to get the DRL turned on. Any Ford employee's have suggestions other than a long long drive to get them turned on?
  6. The price of the upgrade all depends on the dealership. Flemington Ford www.flemington.com were we bought our FEHL did it for free no questions asked. Malouf Ford, North Brunswick NJ does it for 44.95 no matter where you purchased your vehicle. Prices vary due to the level of customer service individual dealerships wish to provide.
  7. With the crazy weather we've been having here in Central NJ our last tank (12/15-morning of 12/28) netted us 28.07MPG. Yesterdays nice weather got us just over 36 MPG on our weekly 40+ mile Sunday trip.
  8. Found out from a tech that the TPMS sensors in the FEHL are "smart" and report the tire presure to the SJB (smart junction box). The SJB then compares the information with its preprogramed psi number and determines whether or not to set off the TPMS idiot light. Since the TPMS sensors report their information via radio signal there must be some way to capture that signal and find out what the psi of each tire is. Anyone know who the manufacturer of the TPMS system is or have spec sheets on the sensors?
  9. Is there any way to monitor these radio signals and determine the psi of the tires? Or are the sensors just dum dum's, i.e., sends one signal if over 34 and another if under 34?
  10. :happy feet: Congrats!! :happy feet: We've had our FEHL for a month as of last night and LOVE IT! You are going to have so much fun driving it and watching your fuel economy go up. :happy feet:
  11. hmm...I don't remember seeing RDS before the update but then we've only had the FEHL for less than a month and haven't played with all the bells n whistles yet.
  12. Unlike previous Ford Nav systems that use the parking brake ground wire signal, the Sony Gen2 uses the VSS (variable speed sensor) signal to determine if the vehicle is stopped or not. This is way it allows you to input iniformation while rolling under 3-5 MPH. I was hopping to find a way to bypass this safety feature by installing an momentary on button in the glove compartment, thus allowing a passenger to input information/addresses into the navigation system as long as the button was depressed. Unfortunately I cannot locate any wiring information for the unit. As for watching DVD's, though I would love for our two boys to be able to play them on the nav screen whilie we are on long trips, I would rather err on the side of caution and let that safety feature stay active.
  13. I've been looking all over for manuals/info for our Sony Nav systems but have not had any luck. Until that information surfaces we won't know what goodies are hidden in our Nav systems that Ford didn't activate.
  14. I downloaded the Sync Status Checker 1.0 from syncmyride.com Saturday night, uploaded it to the NAV system and confirmed installation online per the directions. Didn't really notice any changes Saturday but got a pleasant surprise yesterday (Sunday) while on the way to the store. When we switched from Sirus to FM radio something looked a bit different. The stattion identification, song artist and title show up. As well as being able to sort by station genre! A very nice surprise.
