Truthfully, the people at UAW Legal Services never thought it would last this long. I used to work at the main office. The union coordinators are making a nice little salary. The operating expenses to run the staff offices all over the US is expensive. The quality of the attorneys is poor. Sometimes it is not their fault. They have to practice "assembly line law". Get them in, get them out, on to the next client. But always make it seem like they are getting the best service., They are fine for wills, real estate, and some simple legal issues. The really good lawyers don't stay long, because they get frustrated at having to rush through litigation. Like I said, eliminate Legal Services.

Why don't they get rid of Legal Service? The main office on Second, all of the branch offices all of the US. How good are they really? Is it worth keeping? Get rid of the Union Coordinators that are making really good money and perks. After all, it was part of our benefits, why not cut them out?

Our union at WAP has told us that MTP will be placed as work available. The rest will have to go to Dearborn, Woodhaven, or other plants.

I understand that WAP will only take 200 MTP to replace the temps that are leaving end of Nov. The rest of MTP will go to Dearborn.

Someone has said that our new Union President has promised there will be no permanent layoffs at Wayne Assy. Only rolling layoffs until the loans come through and the economy gets back on track. Also have heard talk that we will be down the week of Thanksgiving. Dec. 19th will be our last day until Christmas, and we come back Jan 5. Nothing confirmed or official. Our Union meeting is this Sunday.

Yes, it will be a change. I understand that we will be getting about 1,000 people coming over and working while they retool what used to be called MTP. Our union at Wayne is supposed to stand for both plants.

MTP and Wayne Assy will now be known as the Wayne Complex with Wayne's Plant Manager in charge of the entire Complex. :happy feet:

At Wayne Assy, we have temps going to ISA, and holding good jobs. They keep telling us that they are done, but they are still here. Friends and family of union take precedence of seniority. I guess that is the new rule.

We were never scheduled to build the new Focus. 2010 We will be getting a new product. MTP will be building the Euro Focus. Of course, like I had said, that is what they are saying now, information changes on a daily basis. That does not necessarily mean it is bull shit, it just means that the facts keep changing.

I talked to the Plant Manager at WAP a couple of days ago. MTP and WAP are now going to be called the Wayne Complex. Our Plant Manager will be in charge of both plants and our union will be the union for both plants. It will be interesting to see how this spins out. Also, we were supposed to get the new Falcon, the Mustand, and small version of the Crown Vic. But things change from day to day. There is also talk about either a 3 Crew or 3 shifts running 8 hours eac.

Rumor has it that Wayne will keep their TPTs if they can do "multiple jobs". so friends and family will be protected.
