  1. Sales must of really picked up big time over night !!!!
  2. I personally would never ever consider buying a vehicle other than a ford product as long as i work for Ford motor co. I really don't care how my neighbor looks at me or my co-workers, the only thing i care about is putting a meal on the table for my family, heat in my house and gas in my car.... Ford motor co. provides me with a job to earn money to do all of these. Why would i even consider buying another brand of vehicle? So i can put a meal on Joe Chrysler's table, or heat in Jack Nissan's house? Everyone can come on this thread and keep throwing different scenerios left and right until the cows come home, but the bottom line is you need to take care of #1. It's too bad it takes plant closings, layoffs, home foreclosures etc... etc... etc.... to realize this.
  3. "Don't bite the hand that feeds you!!!!" we've got a winner!!! good job frank!
  4. you'll have to go to your dealeship and ask your salesman for the x-plan price of the particular sport trac you are interested in. the prices are all different depending on the packages you get. enjoy your new explorer.
  5. does anybody know the DTP status for work on thursday? no update on the 1-866 number yet.
  6. went to his town hall meeting this morning. he said the schedule just came out today and no down time for the rest of 2007. but also said he wouldn't be surprised if that changed for december.
  7. when you get the confirmation letter back, remember to go over it and make sure all of your dependents are listed and s.s. #'s are correct.
  8. i was audited last year for the first time. had to send them a copy of the first page of my tax forms to show the names and s.s. #'s of my wife and 1 year old daughter. 2 weeks later i got a confirmation letter with only my wife's name on it. i called the audit dept. to find out what the hell happened. they're response..... "oh ya, now i see your daughter's name". how in the hell do you miss that on 1 page of a f-ing 10-40 tax form if you're an AUDITOR?????????????? do you know what happens to me if i miss 1 bolt on a f-ing truck???????????????? i get disciplined!!!!!!!!!!! what a bunch of clowns running this company.
  9. Not on day shift. ??????????????????????????
  10. the mustang's "home" (dap) is already partially demolished.... where is "home"?
  11. i know that meridian automotive supplies the bumpers and some other plastic pieces for the f-150, expedition and navigator, probably other vehicles also.
  12. this is only your second post on this website and on the same subject 1.5 years apart. THIS SOUNDS LIKE YOUR OWN RUMOR!!!!
  13. i would go nuts without my radio headset to get me through the day. i do agree with p bass that it does indeed help quality. i read about a study done that people that listen to the radio or some sort of music throughout their work day are 10% more productive than those that don't. i believe it!
  14. i think knowing the production numbers are a little pre-mature. all we have ben told is that the 3 crew will start on june 4th, 2007.
  15. be careful in carleton, they have a huge landfill there. this is where canada dumps all of their trash. smells mighty ripe in the summer!
  16. i think when they refer to the 3rd shift they are actually talking about the 3rd crew (or C crew) that will be added at DTP (4/10's). this is how it worked at MTP when they had the 3 crew...... A crew= mon. - thurs. -days B crew= tues. - fri. - afternoons C crew= fri, sat. - days sun, mon - afternoons this is probably how it will work at DTP also.
  17. On my team we rotate on a daily basis. I know of other teams that rotate jobs every 20 minutes or even after each break. It is up to each team as to how they rotate. There are an average of about 10 jobs per team.
  18. if the engine lift is fixed .... there will still be employees there to run the rest of the shift. if they send you home and it's fixed.... there is nobody there to run the line. they're paying you the same reguardless, whether it's for sitting there and cleaning or if it's short work week when you go home.
  19. i was told today that it is looking like the 3 crew will start on june 4th, 2007. transfers will be brought in prior to that for training.
  20. with the COA there will be an 18 month freeze on bumping at DTP. all hilo dock workers, cleaners, crib and maintenance will be replaced by a 3rd party (outsourced), so these classifications will be gone. there will be very few material handeling positions left, only marketplace to line, we don't have hilos that deliver to the line. we don't have repairmen on the line, the only ones we have are in the garage in repair bays, team leaders do a lot of repairs themselves. the only other decent classifications in final are probably torque inspectors or final line inspectors, roll test. everyone else is in either trim or chassis working the line. i don't know a whole lot about the body shop, they are in a different building. i've only been over there a couple of times and that was before the plant was running. maybe somebody else on here knows about body shop classifications.
  21. yes, lets discuss the lions for a minute for this norfolk ass clown. it is true that the lions haven't won a world championship since 1957 and the current lions are having another dismal season. have you ever been to ford field on a sunday afternoon to watch the lions?? every game is a complete sellout, what sort of bandwagon are the lions fans on? even when the lions were at the silverdome, with a capacity of 80,000+ seats we would still pack in 60,000+.... many times even sell it out just to watch a losing team. these are the types of fans that detroit has!!!! you know nothing about detroit or michigan so don't pretend to jackass!!
