  1. You were in Lorain when the request for aTRO (temporary restraining order)was filed.Lawsuits never entered into it.The judge stated that upon the experation of the TRO that she was prepared to make it permanant.Go read the appeal and you will find out that whoever gave you your"information"LIED to you.Yes you have an opinion and you are entitled to it but please try to base it upon facts else you compromise your credibility.I have had had the opportunity to read both the Judge's decision in GRANTING the TRO and the UAW Public review board decision and quite honestly you are in outer space.
  2. Naw.Flash hit his head on the edge of a cabinet while he was changing a water jug.Mike just happen to walk in when it happened.I heard that labor checked it out and they were satisfied as to what happened.End of story.
  3. It looks Nick's little minnions are out in force again.Maybe after June we won't be bothered anymore by them. They will be too tired from having to do an honest day's work to mess about on the computer.
  4. It's not just Donovan supporters that will cast votes. What about all those hate filled appointees that try to ruin any thread that they believe threatens them. You are trying to do something for the membership, that threatens them.Heard from some friends in chassis that Gonzalez was campaigning there on FRIDAY. They were not impressed.
  5. You need to talk to your identical twin as all she does is whine and complain and people think that it's you.She even uses your name.I can't figure you out,0ne minute you are defending poor Bruce the next minute you critize him for trying to intimidate anyone who stands in his way.Incidentally,he only tries to intimidate women, men cause him too much trouble when he tries it with them.
  6. Donovan was a leader but you wouldn't know a leader with your whining and moaning. As for Yates being professional check his background and then tell us, that know him as to what type of professional he is! Donovan losing control ,you can bet that was not the case.He may have been loud as you claim but when you talk to an idiot and need to get a message thru that's the way you have to act unfortunately at times. You are a remarkable person being able to report on an incident that you did not witness.Did Brucie whisper it in your ear.I don't know what happened but knowing both participants I would bet that whatever Donovan said to Yates was well deserved.
  7. Bruce is the union rep on days why has he not made the company fill the dayshift openings? As for the committeemen needing his help, probably they knew his lack of ability so elected to ignore him.I have heard that he has cut a HOG recently that will cost this membership dearly for years to come if he stays in office.(which I greatly doubt)When I find out more of the details I will post so you can question him yourself. Also heard that He got into it with the Irishman and that he ran to labor to file charges on Donovan. Some union rep.

  9. Is this the same Bruce Yates that we all know as "the invisible man"?The one who has had his time stopped by the chairman on numerous ocassions because he was not in the plant when he was supposed to be.The Bruce Yates who must have learned his job at Bob Evans. As for knowledge put him and a good union rep to-gether and you will find out how much (or in his case)how little he knows. It is only now that the election is near that you start seeing him.As for soliciting for job openings,it is the company's responsibility to do this. The union rep is responsible to ensure that the company have followed the correct procedure. This is called enforcing the contract.Apparently from your statements ( J BORES 6511) Yates is not very good at doing that.Maybe there is a reason that he can't pressure the company!!!
  10. Furious, surely you know to never argue with a fool, they will bring you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.Best to just ignore them.
  11. Have asked the same question myself. Most former Lorain people that I talk to say the same. They say he's a nice enough guy but that he's way out of his league in this race. They do all say that while he may have been on some committee that he never negotiated a contract.I suppose the easy way to find out is to ask Tim Rowe.I agree we can not take a chance in this election.Too much riding on the outcome. However there is still plenty of time to hear from everyone whose running,so let's hold judgement for a while.
  12. Appreciate the union meeting notes.Sometimes some of us just can't make the meetings,so your notes keep us informed.
  13. Other decent contributors are entitled to recognitation and where I can, I will respond to them. However my personal opinion is that to get in the gutter with the garbage churners only adds to their egos which is the only thing they have going for them,so I will elect to ignore them.Ther are plenty of others who write on these threads who are more than capable to respond to them.Rumor has it that we reached a local agreement --anyone, any news on this?
  14. Spring,I am somewhat dissappointed in you.Surely you did not expect THEM TO USE LEGITIMATE FACTS.That is not their stock in trade. They are running scared! They will resort to any means and the facts will not stand in the way.My advice to you is to ignore their rantings, this is the same advice that I would give to all the other contributers to this site. I worked with some of thse morons in the old Villager bodyshop and so I know how they operate. They are dedicated to one thing and one thing only---their own survival.
  15. You have proved the point that needed made, namely, that you know more about games or mythology than you do as regards what's going on in the plant. As for contract we know who is knowledgable in contract and as to who we can go to if we need to know what the contract really says.I know that you are feeling pain, not the physical type but the type as in P.Paranoid,A.Aggressive,I,Insecure,N.No self esteem.Rest assured when you are back on the line you will gradually get rid of your pain.
  16. "Bucky",Irish Dad,crapkiller0 etc. are just a group of wannabe's who are afraid that if the administration is changed, will have to go back to work on the line.Furious Auto refers to them collectively as the Medusa(the mythological seven headed beast.)Most of us also realize their agenda so we ignore them as we learned a long time ago that they have no credibility. You note that they never answer questions, they just try to change the issue.I am surprised that Spring responds to them as most of us know them for what they are and we are not influnced by their rantings.
  17. Excuse me Irish Dad,if you will please read your own statement, second last sentence, you stated that Mary's grievance had nothing to do with seniority, you then ,when questioned tried to send the issue in a different direction. This would appear to be the way some representatives of this administration operate,if issues arise where seniority is involved change the issue. Now you know why the MAJORITY of the people are opposed to this administration.Yes, Yates may be a slickster as you called him but he seems to have a lot of company.
  18. Refering to Yates as a slickster leads me to believe that you are aware of his reputation.Obviously he did not earn this reputation in two days. When you butt is stuck in an office most of the day then I can understand as to why it is hard to see what violations of the memberships rights are taking place.I realize that at times we may be foolish but we are not stupid. So are you saying that a more senior person was removed from the job and that Mary was then placed on the job?YOU DID SAY that her grievance was not about seniority,so then how did she get the job? Will the union have her removed legally off the job if she did not have the seniority to be placed on it in the first place.Maybe you are one of the one's whom Viscomi wrote about who try to play games.
  19. Spoke to some tradesmen. Was suprised to hear them say that Viscomi would probably not have been re-elected.However he's gone so we will never know.If they have an election(don't know the way they do these replacements in skilled trades)will we have one also for b/c?Heard that Donovan and that group are having another steak fry soon.the simple way to see the real facts in Spring"s job bid is to see the bid sheet. If she was the most senior and the company tried to bypass her then the union' period should fight for her.If this was not the case then she should be removed and the job given to the most senior person. If she is not removed then we can safely assume that she is on the job LEGALLY and that someone is just trying to play politics.either way the TRUTH is easy to find out.So lets see what the FACTS show.
  20. Just heard that the skilled trade committeeman is getting a job with the International. Was told he starts next week.
  21. Found out to-day that Mike has been assigned full time to nightshift .We believe that this move and some others have political implications. However I would like to add my thanks to Mike for showing on what is not his shift. Question, will Yates be docked any of his holiday pay like the rest of us would be if we didn't show up?Somehow your tend to believe that for the most part the local leadership has abandoned the membership.Yes they will all start to come out of the woodworks now, but we will remember who was there for us when we needed them and who wasn't come election time.Happy New Year to all, hope like me you enjoyed your time off.
  22. Hope that this doesn't turn into a Lorain/Avon battle. If it does we ALL lose.I am sure some candidates will try to make it that type of campaign. In fact I heard some rumblings that one was already trying to do so.As for Donovan/Rowe joining forces all that I have heard is positive.People see it as some trying to unite both plants.Face it auto, good leaders try and unite the people not divide them.Frankly I don't believe that the vote will be split by plant but rather by the number of candidates in any given race.I am not familiar with Robert Gonzalez's experience at this time but I am sure he will be putting it out for our evaluation some time in the future.I believe, as obviously you do that experience is a MUST for the position of chairman. Glad to see that you recognize the Medusa for what it's worth as all it does istake away from what ever issue that is under discussion.Other members who read these threads have the same opinion of the "Medusa"Hopefully everyone will put out their record for our evaluation. In my opinion those that don't can forget about it.
  23. You raise a good point, Furious1Auto. Now ask yourself the question WHY didn't the International or the Local Union file a lawsuit? Was it because of some sweetheart deal that was made between the International Union and the company? This issue bothered me as well. So I went and investigated and this is what I found. You can find this information also by going to the people involved. As a matter of record, the Local Union Executive Board with one exception and a number of elected officials opposed this membership when it VOTED to hold the elections in accordance with the Local Union Bylaws and the Constitution of the International UAW. The "lawsuit" which was filed in Federal Court, as I recall, was to STOP the union, both local and national, taking away the democratic and constitutional rights of the members of Unit 2 and the membership of Local 2000. The Escape was being made and would continue to be made some months AFTER the election. Yet the membership of Unit 2 were DENIED the right to elect their own representatives for Unit 2. The Federal Court stated categorically that the rights of the membership in Unit 2 and of Local 2000 WERE violated AND acknowledged that the International Union was trying to stonewall the membership. However, the people involved with the suit, trying to do the RIGHT thing withdrew their suit to let the International comply with the court order. Guess what, the International still tried to stonewall and screw over their own people! After about 18 months or so I was told that the Public Review Board of the UAW also said that the International had violated the rights of the people but by then it was too late to do anything. So you see, what I found out (and I read the actual paperwork myself - all I had to do was ask for it) that while the membership is tied to time limits to appeal any ILLEGAL actions of the International Union, the same International Union isn't bound by the same time limits in answering! If the International have the rights that they claim and we aren't supposed to or can't do anything about it then why do we have a Constitution or bylaws? At least those who were involved in taking this action (and they weren't even in office at the time) were prepared and in fact did FIGHT to protect the rights of the membership. As you have stated yourself elsewhere, it appears that no one is fighting for the MEMBERSHIP! Do what I did and ASK to read the actual paperwork. Its very long and dry but very interesting. YOU WILL GET THE TRUTH! Then you will understand why some people are desperate to cover things up! And look at the DATES! This is a scare tactic that some very weak and very scared people are using to try to divide the membership. Why? Because that is the ONLY way they will be able to survive and stay in office is if they DIVIDE the membership and take attention away from THEIR actions and failures. Quite honestly, I'd like to see the main candidates in a debate at the Union Hall. Then maybe we can get some real answers!
  24. It's the first time that i've ever heard of settling differences by not meeting.I think there's more to it than that.Maybe somebody is facing a moment of truth.
  25. Heard that it was the group leaders who told them that they couldn't work more than 8hrs on the day before a major holiday period. They say that it was Madigan who tried to do this to try and make himself look good .No matter it didn't happen. They seem to think that they can do what they want . MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU AND TO YOUR FAMILIES.STAY SAFE.
