  1. You're quick....I posted this on the 20th.....it does show me that you may be the only ex-employee that took a buyout that still cares to post....you got that going for you
  2. I couldn't care less if you post....I never wrote one word about that....you're not really Furious are you? He's gonna be real mad at you when he finds out ...the Furious I knew ...knows how to read and debate....he's gonna be mad....all I asked was if you get a pension....come on man
  3. In the past when we have discussed this you wrote that you didn't know what you were entitled to...the amount...now you say you have paperwork....hmmmm
  4. The government isn't involved when it comes to you signing a buyout with your company...If in your paperwork you gave up your rights to a vested benefit...your example(defined benefit/401k) has no bearing on this question...
  5. Do former employees who took a buyout get pension benefits?
  6. I have always wondered if you really have any pension benefits from Ford....why would Ford give you money to leave the company and then owe you a pension benefit of any size...what was the buyout for...what did the company get for their buyout payment....not saying you don't get a small payment...never looked at anything but my own options...I was under the assumption that you low seniority people got a buyout and they were no longer a liability to the company...maybe I'm wrong...
  7. When I used the term kid...I don't want you to think that Furious is living at home or anything like that....he is just young....I believe he is responsible and trying hard to better himself....I believe he is impressed with his taking the chance and leaving Ford to move on to other things....there are a lot of opportunities out there....
  8. Furious...I did reread your posts and I am still at a loss to see that you "delivered" anything to me...please re-post anything that you think would clear this up for me....thank you
  9. X Nap...I want you to know you are dealing with a kid who worked like 4 years....maybe more ...maybe less...it really doesn't matter... and took advantage of a situation offered by Ford to reduce employment numbers....he wasn't in the plant very long....he's just a kid...I think he did the right thing leaving Ford...but I don't get the incessant talking about his non-Ford situation on this forum.
  10. You're delusional my friend....I must not be getting all your posts on my computer....you haven't done anything but make me think I gave you too much credit in the past....like I mentioned before....time for you to change the subject
  11. I don't know what you are "delivering" except calling a couple of men a few names....why don't you just let the thread die....this one is really not going well for you...
  12. Your employer pays for unemployment insurance...if he was paying for your full unemployment benefit he wouldn't need the government to be involved at all...come on man....now name calling...you should be ashamed of yourself for comparing your situation to anyone who is receiving their well earned SS benefit....you're really in an indefensible position here.....It works for you....but it is something you should have kept to yourself....
  13. The fact that you choose to live off the dole makes your choice even more embarrassing for you....what you do during your voluntary "money for nothing" time is inconsequential to the rest of us taxpayers...the rest of your post makes no sense to me...I don't know what you are trying to say
  14. I worked the last 22 years of my service with Ford without one unemployment claim...your analogy doesn't work here....any downtime was paid to me by my employer...not OUR government
  15. So you work for an employer who won't hire professionals in their trade, lay you off a few months a year to live off of the government, and keep you from your family for extended periods when you do work...and you want to come on here and brag about your choices? Come on man
  16. In the past, you had to have a degree to get a salary job... so you could be promotable ....I'm not sure but I believe one of our CEO's didn't have a degree and he was in power when this was the rule...Phillip Caldwell maybe....
  17. Furious....you never cease to amaze us on this forum with your "success story"....why tell it over and over....it seems to me we read this same BS from you about every 6 weeks...this is supposed to be about Ford work and workers, not used to be Ford. Give us all a break and go tell your wife your story of success...I'm sure she cares more than we do....but she has probably heard it a few times also
  18. It looks like we are heading for disappointment from these two articles....time will tell
  19. I wish it would be that easy but with only 15% of our population on medicare as of 2010....How much more are we going to have to pay to make this doable? I believe the program is in deep doo doo now....and expanding it is likely to make the economics involved to get much worse.....hey if someone doesn't realize that we don't have the money to pay for what we already have promised....then I can't support their expansion of the program Here is a link to the medicare percentages by population:http://www.stateheal...=74&sortc=1&o=a Here is a link to funding facts for medicare http://www.kff.org/medicare/upload/7305_03.pdf
  20. Sorry if I confused you with that comment....just playin with The General
  21. I know it doesn't sound like a good idea....I don't think healthcare should be a for profit venture...but I don't know of a way to provide equitable care for everyone....Your analogy of groceries is good....we all need to eat to stay alive....taxpayers already supplement the farmers...but not the retailers of their product....just some thoughts
  22. You read about countries "nationalizing an industry"....I think maybe Canada nationalized their oil industry about 50% back in the 90's...anyways maybe we should nationalize our health industry and make it a service of the government....the U.S. taxpayers would own all the hospitals and provide the hospital care free of charge....paid for with a new tax....all preventative care would be your own responsibility....but the expensive care....the stuff in the hospitals would be from the taxpayers...no more insurance at all...just a thought
  23. I hope you're correct Pulse....time will answer all our/my doubts....my concern is also for the cost of care and the quality....We know that we don't as a country have enough money to go around with all the cash Uncle Sam gives out now...My concern is once you start paying for some of this new program with tax money, how are you going to keep up with the historically escalating costs...keep raising taxes? But then I'm back to this bill not attacking the problem....cost of health care
