Look trying to stop electric cars is bad for the whole world. The Union needs to do all it can to protect and get workers displaced new jobs and really good separation packages. My guess is coal miners who much rather be doing something else besides dying in coal mines or black lung. The green energy sector is the future. Solar ,wind, biofuels etc are limitless and clean. The only reason mass transit is appealing is because they are not paying Americans shit and they cannot afford cars or houses they are too busy going to college and getting in debt for a shit pay job when they graduate! as far as Dems I agree. I support progressives like Bernie,warren and Gabbard. I have worked like a good peasant for over 40 years and yet the rich and corporations never stop taking from working people so I say FUCKEM. That is where I made the mistake. It was MAP not FRAP that got the buyouts. I wonder they offered them at MAP and not FRAP?

and you know if they cut a crew buyouts will come .They do almost every time there is a layoff.

Just from a business sense seems like Ford would want every legacy employee gone. Especially when they can hire a new hire for less than a 1/3 of what a legacy employee gets in pay and benefits!

We in Weld Teardown are doing our part. We just passed the audit and did so well the plant manager mentioned us in a flyer saying what a great job we are doing and how knowledgeable we are and they even bought us lunch. The best best partof our hard work is they are trying to eliminate another weld inspector. Their plan is to HOPEFULLY catch any weld issues before they get out to the customer.How reassuring to know the car you are driving MIGHT be welded together correctly.

Maybe I am mistaken but I thought basically paid the UAW to take retiree medical coverage off of their books. As far as certain classifications my money is on labor pool not skilled trades being offered buyouts. I was hoping to be offered something before the contract with people being laid off I am hoping they want to make room for someone who makes a lot less than me!!

I would think retirement incentives would be more attractive to Ford especially when new hires make much less plus less benefits. I agree most of the time the people doing the most complaining about the Union or Reps are the ones who are constantly out on medical or just hardly ever come to work LOl

No problem Decker. I just know how Ford has treated us the past few contracts and I am pretty skeptical of them returning anything they have stolen from us or treating us fairly. I hope for the best but plan for the worst! You much enjoy being a Union Rep because I do not think I could deal with it Lol!. To answer your question yes I am from St louis and am ready to go home. Hopefully Ill get paroled and one of the younger workers will not get laid off or Ford will hire another person to replace me!!!!!!!!!!

Cece is not stirring anything up. Where did I say we were loosing a shift? I said you cannot just pass over people with seniority for any extended time like when they cut a shift at ANY UAW facility. Open the book for the first time?? Listen you do not have to be such a wise ass all the time on this forum .I read the contract more than you think that is why when management is busy screwing me over I get the contract book out research it then go to my Union Rep and notify my Rep what is going on. About CAP having one of the most profitable units .St Louis built the Explorer,Aviator, Mountaineer and that plant was shut down. You on here preaching your propaganda about how safe CAP is LISTEN up Ole wise one Ford will shut a plant down profitable or not and move the production to another facility maybe even Mexico or China. So if you or anyone thinks we have Ford where we want them or we are irreplaceable think again. In this day of wonderful free trade and Nafta our days are numbered if the trade laws do not change. I do not believe that for one minute.So you mean to say that if they cut a shift they can man a shift they bring back shift with people with little or no seniority? They might be able to pull a a few people with lower seniority because of a classification but only for the launch. You better believe with someone with over 30 years as myself if they have somebody with 5 years working full time while I am laid off I might have to get a lawyer and sue the UAW as I bet so would many other members. I have never seen happen what you just stated . Maybe a few people like I said but as far as a whole shift working like TPTs while Full timers are laid off????? Like I said NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Contractually you have to bring back higher seniority first no way around that. I am at CAP and have 30 years. Please give me the buyout they were talking about and you guys can have my slot!!!
