My buddy and a couple more guys from AAP will be starting on the 14th aswell.

I think there are 6.Gixer44 is a toolmaker there,he may chime in with the right answer.It has been over a year since I have left so they may have had someone take a buyout that I am not aware of but I am trying to remember who was there when I left and all I can think of is 5 or 6.About the same for toolmakers.

I just talked to my buddy in AAP who had signed up for KCAP and he has been told nothing as of today.

Obviously we don't agree.I see the UAW for what it is designed for, to protect our rights as workers and you guys see it as a way to "hold you down". All I can say is take a look around and think if you would have such a nice lifestyle if there never was a union?Do you think in the sweltering heat of the Kentucky summer you would have those air conditioned break rooms ,thjose ice machines any of those ergonomic rights?Do you think that you would get 3 breaks a day,2 paid?Do you think you would get overtime after 8? Simply answered NO! None of those things you have to make your day go by any smother and more confortablly would exist.Working the line is tuff and not everyone can do it.Just imagine if there were no nationally negotiated contract to protect you from unsafe working conditions? I wouldn't be counting on any openings in Louisville area anytime soon.I have freinds who have been waiting on that to come about for over a year and hasn't happened.Now they have to go to KCAP or CAP. Even after the extended buyout deadline last time through still nothing.I believe they are trying to self level and get there manpower straigfht before any openings come up and that could be long after everyone has been placed and bought out.
