  1. Quality. Hermosillo is putting out quality and it's showing in sales and press of the Fusion. Quality has been Japan's benchmark for decades. That, IMO, more than just the styling is what brings sales.
  2. I don't know, maybe you 2 and many others, failed as women and or wives? :slug: Don't even sit there and blame all divorces on the men. Plenty of women are to blame in their own failed relationships, but the big difference is you ladies can screw up and still get rewarded by the courts!! LMAO!
  3. Bingo fatfender, that's exactly what will happen. I doubt probation will be even close to that though. Rehabbing these people -----> They get "rehab" and we get -----> :slap:
  4. Yes! Yes! Yes! Thanks Tigers and good luck!
  5. I agree, just pay it with the check. You'll just be writing one later if you don't.
  6. What you probably are thinking of is once the people trasfer there is a balancing of seniority. Meaning even though you followed your product you still require the time to hold the plant. That's how the consolidation went with Lorain/Avon. With seniority lists combined you balance to the required number for operation. Some from both sides went to GEN. Indycat, I've heard this same scenario as well, going back 13 yrs. We should all know very soon what the fate of our plants will be. It may happen for real this time.
  7. Good post Jersey. Keep working or get shut down? I pick working. I expect this same vote to come up at OHAP. We live by old rules we will die by them. For those that would rather go unemployed than make some changes, well more power to you. I'd rather make some changes and put Ford into a leading role in the auto industry because then and only then would we possess some degree of leverage to regain some that was given back. Once Ford goes back solidly into the black they won't want to fall back down to where we are today. Then, bargaining to regain something would be possible. Calling DTP a bunch of suckasses is ridiculous. They now have some stability and investment into their plant to look forward to instead of looking for the first sign that your plant is getting the axe!
  8. That thread is embarrassing. I wish the folks at Ohio Assembly would open their eyes and see the writing on the wall, but like your last lines in your response....they don't. Plants are lined up like ducks to have the axe fall and our leaders have to be discussing the likes of foolishness here at important meetings instead of focusing on plant quality/productivity...the very things to allow a plant's survival. Clock's ticking...
  9. Butthead I understand what you're saying....but Everyone at every plant knows which ones are "slackers" or "deadbeats" there's no need for one person to decide it. The evidence presents itself so clearly every freakin' day. Dealing with re-balances of a job isn't the same and each of us are aware of that. You mentioned the "occasional day off" If you occasionally take a day once every 6 months or twice a week then you can see the difference. Float around 6 months and then you're assigned a job and promptly get restrictions or go on medical, layout every Friday in the month, cover half jobs and then sometimes get out of that......on and on and on. Those are the ones that need to go. More and more people are getting fed up with it. I am for damn sure, but in each and every plant, each and every day the union must deal with these select groups of dead weight. What I beg to understand is why. Why do they deserve their job back after being fired and not just once but I have witnessed those up to 3 times. Why must they be kept off regular work. Am I a better human being physically? I think not. Is the guy behind me better? No. So why are they not forced to earn their pay like the other 90% of the plants workforce. What drives the local to bend over backwards for them? I hear "because they have to" Why is that...you F*** up and lose your job, what reason is there for bringing you back yet again? Some say well it's to protect people from the company illegally firing them. The company wants to make money, if you're doing your job there is no reason for Ford to want to get rid of you. You get terminated...there IS a reason, I guarantee it. I've yet to see anyone terminated just because. More often that not, I don't air my gripes because they are just my opinions. I don't feel the need to force them upon others. This however is one major issue for not only myself but many, many others. We're losing plants in droves and we need to be busting ass to keep the rest open so that we may have a job in the future. I'm not implying we all take on triple workloads either. Come to work, do your job well. Deadbeats do NOTHING to help the cause, they only add to the red ink.
  10. That's not the cases these guys are talking about and you know it. We ALL know which ones they are. They take up space in every plant, protected by a giant union safety net. Refusing work, restrictions for everything but breathing, consistant AWOL's. Losing the deadbeats would save alot of jobs for the rest of us.
  11. Hi redneckgurl, My .02 on the above are that if we were doing our jobs right (as a whole) and not producing poor quality and lack of production or whatever the case may be....Ford would not turn to tactics like this. I haven't heard of these bans on the floor as of today, but I'm not saying they're not true. I don't like the fact I can't use my mp3 player anymore either...but it's the rule now. Upset...ya it would stink but it still doesn't afford us the right to neglect quality for the folks dropping their hard earned on our van. We really do need to think of it that way. Buyers fuel our plant. No buyers means no orders means no work for us. For the life of me I just don't know why people can't see the writing on the wall. A company seeking out plants to close and we have the attendance problem (i think exaggerated), supposed quality issues, and just a non-willingness to move forward. We have in our hands a consistant seller. A vehicle not tied closely to everyday consumers whose buying habits are affected more easily than fleet buyers. A stable product and we're just pissing it away. Ladies and gents, we CAN make this work! QUALITY is key, build it as if it were going to be yours! It's not a crime to do flawless work...it's your highly paid job to do just that. I'm TIRED of getting whipped by Japan and the negative appearance union workers are labeled with....aren't the rest of you?
  12. My parents own a 500. I love it. I'm not sure what the cause for slow sales are. Maybe...it's a wee plain to some, but I think it's a great car and anyone I've ran into with one really likes it.
  13. When was it done away with? Ask some former OHAP people now in KC. They were given the chance to follow the Mariner even though it didn't create any need for more people in KC. There are a few of them that still frequent this rumor board. If that right was taken away it's news to me.
  14. This punk has revelled in the fact that others will close along with his plant. Just read the other trash posts he's made. He likes to rub it in. He's just a dick.
  15. It's back over $7 and while that's still horrible it's at least going in the right direction. :bandance:
  16. Oh, now it's going to Michigan Truck? Kentucky, Dearborn, MTP, who else is gonna get a slice of the Econoline? How many ways can we cut it? White ones to this plant, blue to that one. sheesh. When automation isn't breaking and suppliers keep parts coming we're running just fine. The AWOL number from the Morning Journal is garbage. I don't know where that came from. My zone personally has great attendance. The AWOL problem is the same folks that are always out, we all know who those are in our respective areas.
  17. Sadly there are a bunch of lazy ass worthless auto workers and it makes us as a whole look bad. The guy's opinion is shared by a great deal of the car buying public too. By no means does that make it true, but it's hard to argue the point sometimes when I look around at work.
  18. He is. It's "If I can't have it neither can you" attitude talking. Jealousy, whatever you want to call it. TCAP'er, Ford will close OHAP (and any other facility for that matter) if they desire even if we make production which we are by the way. I'm not sure if it's within the time range, but we're doing it less than 10hrs. Not counting things like the power outage on dayshift the other day and matters out of our control. Based on things like flex, one could easily see we're in danger of closure. You don't need "staffers" to see that. I'm preparing now anyway to be safe. Last I knew I can go with it anyway.... but that's a whole nuther argument.
  19. This is the first I've heard about this, but I agree if they know then we should know now as well. Still, is Yates really that special that he's the only one that's heard this? I'm from Lorain so I'm not completely familiar with all of the elected officials. I know them all now, names to faces, but not their histories/credibility. 17 months puts us around Nov. of '07....soon after the new contract. I gotta admit it would not surprise me if it did happen. I'm holding out hope it doesn't. I know there's an individual on here that assures us we're on the next list, but until an "official" voice confirms it I'll just continue to do what I can to help keep OHAP right here. :yup:
  20. 4 ten hr. days suits me just fine! :bandance:
  21. I second that about the reps Stumpy. It was obviously important we ran this weekend and those guys proved that. Good work.
  22. Ya, but the article states it's based on how long they've been there and how fast they leave. Most of the Ford folks wanting buyouts haven't a ton of time. That 320K is probably for a guy with almost enough time to retire who will walk away before the ink dries. No way a guy with a year gets that. I'll bet when it's adjusted by their seniority it would fall back to an amount relatively close the the Ford offer given the seniority of the takers for this. Higher seniority would have a little more security and likely stay on until retirement rather than leave. Of course that's just my .02
  23. Why in the world put that out for all to see.
