  1. Yes they did get their transfer packages. Some said there will be 4 groups, he said he saw 4 dates on the paper. Tommorow, is their last day at NAP. They are on voluntary layoff from Jan 2nd till their report date. Day shift is getting a 2 hour lunch tommrow and supposedly only working 8 hours.
  2. If you'll read back through this thread, at 4:55pm Today someone asked if NAP had signed a COA (Competitive Operating Agreement) In other words a new contract with Ford with new attendance and work rules. DTP recently agreed to one and it is expected that it will eventually go company wide. I again go back to my orginial statement of to the best of.... toothe best of my knowledge or AS FAR AS I KNOW we aren't even negotiating a contract with Ford. It doesn't make sense we are closing, who the hell would vote it in? Any more questions?
  3. It means what it means, It is what it is...... :shades: Really, with all the VAST AND DIFFERENT rumors on the plant floor, I haven't heard ANYTHING about a COA coming to NAP. We also never voted to open the contract up, with regards to a COA as KTP did. And again we are closing within months what would the point really be? Sometimes, a little bit of logic goes a long way.... on too my illogical question.... Where do you guys keep hearing that we are closing in the spring? I still keep hearing summer/July shutdown.
  4. Multiple choice buddy: A: Be happy you have a job B: You made a choice live with it C: Quit whining and SHUT THE FUCK UP or D: All of the above. Have a nice day.
  5. To the best of my knowledge Local 919 NAP is not even negotiating a contract with Ford right now. We are closing in less than 9 months; Why bother now?
  6. Approximately 550 people that want to can voluntarily seperate in January with their package. 1100 employees will stay untill the plant idles 350 employees with transfer to DTP starting on 1/8/07 Meetings for transferring employees to be held next week Tuesday @ 10am in the white room for day shift and 2pm for night shift. This information reflects a letter that we received today in the plant. Management is also looking at bringing in 400 TFT's. We will know more about the one shift operations later this week, including job assignments. Rumor is that January downweeks have been canceled.
  7. This MAN deserves better, Ford should step up to the plate and buy his truck back. He should not have to take a loss that's just unfair too him. Frankly, he should sue no jury in the world would find against him (Ok maybe the OJ Simpson jury.)
  8. As a person that transfered INTO NAP I can atest to that fact. I was treated well, and in return I pushed myself to work harder then I ever had to at my Ford/Visteon parts plant. It wasn't hard to push myself I have an excellent work ethic instilled from a father who worked trades for 37 years at Ford. Sure their are some whiners but... come on.... people are losing the best job of their life, for some their only job. This is a big deal!
  9. You wouldn't happen to have any information to back that up would you?
  10. It would be great if they canceled that week. It would be good cooling off period for EVERYBODY. Before we left out last time on layoff, their were rumors of extra down weeks in Jan and Feb. First, 2 weeks of each month. I haven't heard a thing about those since we've been off. Anybody got a long term schedule out there???
  11. If this is true, at least I'll be stuck on my own crappy job instead of somebody elses BS.
  12. Well, I've talked to enough people and I'll be going to work tommorow. That sucks, but oh well. Sounds like our union has completely given up. So Biggie did you get another phone call? You decided to transfer correct; I'm just wondering if transfering employees are not getting called in. Just a thought.
  13. those phone numbers are for the company Labor Relations office. I don't want to talk to the company yet. I have the general number for the local 919 office, but I was looking for the direct number for the committee room.
  14. I wish I was kidding. What am I supposed to do if I'm indisposed of? ie. Not in Virginia? Have laptop will travel. :-) Does anyone have the number to the committee room? Of course can't get ahold of a union rep tonight.
  15. So I got my phone call. No, I didn't answer it, and it's a bunch of BS. A one Dave Cole from Labor called and said I was REQUIRED TO REPORT TOMMOROW at 3:30PM. He mentioned it was an extreme circumstance and that they were waving the one week shift change notice. A lot of hot air blah blah threaten AWOL if I did not report. Can this be true do I HAVE to report?
  16. I will NOT be answering my phone! Thank you for caller id!
  17. I even forgot that nightshift production was working this week....which dang means I've gotta work next week. I knew about this late last week as well, but certainly didn't believe it. I vaguely remember reading about it here on BON and I think the source was TCAP. How many people quit today? Enough to shut the plant down (period) now or what's going to happen? It really didn't make sense for Ford to allow this.... To quit AND get your package now... though I do suppose this gets somemore people off the books.
  18. Transfers begin Jan 7th 2007. So far 150 or so have sign up to transfer, I believe they might get 400 total to transfer. NAP employees have been told that it will close in the 3rd quarter of 2007. Somewhere between July and September 07. NAP is going to one shift begining in Jan.
  19. Thought people on both side NAP and DTP would like to see this. This is also PRODUCTION only information, I didn't pick up the skilled trades information. I also did not sign up for this. I did today sign up for my $100,000 buyout. Two interesting points: Limited to 782 production transfers and transfers start 1/8/07
  20. You guys are all on nights right? Being on days I've gone straight from our last week worked to short work week checks, I don't think I've missed any money yet.
  21. Steve Wilson didn't even work at Channel 7 when Frank Turner had his drug and phone sex scandal. Frank Turner, cleaned up his act, found Jesus, returned to Channel 7 and now has departed again for his higher calling.
  22. Hmmm.... "submitted for consideration" This over paid jackass isn't going to take any hard real questions! When is National going to start taking cuts and feeling our pain!
  23. The simple answer is: No. VTEP is a special program that has to be 'opened' by the union and the company for workers to apply for. I asked about VTEP several years ago at my previous location and met with a brickwall.
  24. When 'plentyofpain' came on BON he did id himself as a reporter looking to do an important local news story. He never said his name but he did id himself. Get your facts straight.
