The Pat you talk about, no longer exists! I for one backed him in the last election going solely on what I heard about him from OTP people. Boy was I sucked in! I've seen this guy in action (or should I say in-action). He is rarely in the office let alone the plant, will not answer phone calls and is totally out to lunch with what is really happening on the floor! Just ask any leader or one of the good union rep's what they think about good ole company boy, glad hander, lip service, Pat! That guy will be gone next time for sure and the sooner the better!

10 Hr's A shift. It seems there was a problem with the power packs on the U's (vendor issue) but they started to get some good stock trickle in and by the end of the night we were running full tilt.

Talked to the union today, both shifts will be working short hours (around 4) when we come back after shut down and PP 34 and 35 will be black out weeks as well as the 23rd. That would be T4E slip not T43.

Ya, Isn't that something! We heard that some labour relations reps came into the body shop on night shift for the express purpose of catching people sleeping. The story going around is that they caught 4 guys having a nap and suspended them for 3 days. After doing their duty of suspending these guys, the reps went home to get some well deserved sleep and rest up to do the paper work the next day! But I guess Colin was right, they were just looking out for their best interests! After all, if you are not bright eyed and busy tailed doing you job you might get hurt!! A..HOLES!!

I will always remember this story! Way back when, (the start of Tempo, Topaz) I started at Ford as a student. It was supposed to be a short stop to get some money together so I could attend university but the money was so good I decided to stay for a few more years. (I'm going on my 24th year now and where have you heard this story before!) Anyways, near the end of August I was handed my pink slip and told they no longer needed me so I approached a labour relations rep and asked to stay on. I told him I was willing to do any job even clean toilets! Well this guy started to laugh and when he was done he told me "SON YOU NEED 30 YEARS TO CLEAN TOILETS IN THIS PLACE!"..............Something to look forward to!!.......LOL.....

You must have at least 30 years to clean washrooms with your tongue!!

I heard the power house workers went on strike yesterday but that it will have minimal if any affect on the plant, possibly paint shop. Only 15 guys on strike over there, hope they brought a rain coat!!

Here are the things I know ......first of all as of today we will have blackouts for the weeks 14,18, 20 and 23 according to Pat Carducci.........these are tentative since Ford keeps changing them because of construction progression as well as sales. As far as a new operating pattern goes there will be some discussion at the Union meeting this Sunday but a vote will take place when we return to work next Tuesday and a leaflet will be distributed in the plant describing what the operating pattern change will be. From what I presently know Ford wants us to change our operating pattern of possible 3 shifts and 19 weeks of Saturday work to the following operating pattern. When on days-----------Mon to Thurs------10 hours Fri, Sat and Sun off When on afternoons----------Mon to Thurs-------10 hours, Fri-----8 hours Sat and Sunday off They also want a weekend crew that works----------11hours on Fri, Sat and Sun with the rest of the week days off. This may or may not be 100% ACCURATE BUT IF YOU WANT TO FIND OUT EXACTLY GO TO THE UNION MEETING THIS SUNDAY!
