Look! This photochopper almost got it right!
http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index...?showtopic=9326
I have to say I like the real Montego better than the 500 and the Photochop. The guy who did the chop got the grille right.

The Lincoln Fairlane could have the 6 doors.
-
Toyota and Honda don't even do this. The Accord and Camry models are different around the world.

I'm sure the Camaro will spank the Mustang in every which direction except in sales. Nobody can beat Ford's commitment to providing bang for the buck. And of course, a Mustang has much better brand equity than the Camaro.
The GM muscle cars have always been the most technologically sophisticated and powerful, but the Mustang has always been the best mix of practicality, style, and affordability.
And no, I don't like the way the Camaro CONCEPT looks at all. Keep in mind, you are worshiping a concept! Remember how disappointed we all were when the Mustang-actual was revealed! Of course, we all got over it and chances are that GM will make less design compromises (they really are the most competent concept translators in Detroit).
I liked the production Mustang better than the concept.

Only ever saw two on the road.
Bringing back the Cherokee would be beneficial - that car looks timeless.
They at least have that look with the Patriot.
-
I liked the old one (not the int.), but this new one is a knockout!
-
I like it, but it does look a little like a Scion tC.
-
I'm surprised that no one commented on the F shaped chrome fender port.
-
I hate this thing.
-
No! This can't be it! A new grille, Montego taillights and a fender vent?!!! Oh yeah new colorful instruments in the same interior. Igor almost had the look, but his version looked better. I never thought the old one was ugly and this one isn't either, but I am disappointed. At least it has a new powertrain.
-
Wow! I can't believe how different it looks! No one can say it looks like a mild restyle now. It doesn't even look like a Ford. I would have said it was some sort of Nissan if I had to guess what car it is. I don't know if I totally like the outside, but that Interior looks stunning!
-
Look at the Camry in the 6 way car test in the same issue. They didn't like that either. They even slammed it for the poor int. quality.

Everyone talks about using a 6 speed auto. I would have used the CVT. It's already in the hybrid. Maybe that combo with the 3.0 6cyl engine would have given the Escape a quicker and smoother ride. If the 3.5 engine 6 speed combo puts the Escape into the Edge's market, then I think the 3.0/cvt combo is an excellent choice.

If Ford builds the Interceptor, Australia can keep that.

Looks like that clay model from the Bold Moves video is an unfinished version of this. The roof line on the video was the only thing complete. My first thought was if the 427 made it to production, then this is the first reskin. Someone beat me to that comment though. I like this, but the 427 front would look better. I'm on the fence about the Lincoln MKR, but this is beautiful. Is that the MKS show car fender port on the side?
I also hope that the Panhard rod is a police only option and the production model gets an I.R.S. This could replace the Crown Vic, but the 500 should be sold along side of this for those looking for a more down to earth car. I don't really like the name Interceptor, but I dont hate it either. Fairlane would be better. With a 5.0L engine the name Five Hundred would fit this better.

It also has the design language of the MKR that's going to debut at the Detroit auto show! Good Job! You should work at Ford.

Making a FWD car into a pickup is a bad thing, but if a Ranger looked as good as that it would be good. Come to think of it, why do all pick-ups look dull or ugly like Ridgeline?

It's still on AutoWeek's web site: Mainstream Mustangs: Sedan and wagon models to join coupe as Ford builds on pony car’s strong brand
So is the retraction of the article.
http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...1024/LATESTNEWS

It was a false report on Autoweek. They have retracted it. There will be a 4 door show car BASED on the mustang's platform but it will not be a Mustang. It will be called Interceptor.
-
You can't tell anything from that picture. It looks like a pile of white shrink wrap.
-
The plat on the car is RUZ 0826. I can't see a state. Maybe the plate can be traced to a manufacturer.
Not even close

The tranny tunnel is entirely different. That was one of the main obstacles of adapting the DEW98 for the Mustang. The manual tranmissions would NOT fit in the DEW98 transmission tunnel.
Everything else is pretty spot on though.
The Lincoln LS did have a manual transmission when it first came out. Only the 6cyl models had it. Do yoiu mean a v8/manual combo wouldn't fit? I don't know what a difference that would have made.

Check out Autoweek today, It says Ford will not use the Mustang name on a 4 door sedan. A concept based on the mustang will be at the Detroit auto show called Interceptor. Hey No F word name!

The Edge looks like a Chrysler minivan with that grille. Those cars don't look good like that.
