  1. http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2006/12/18/...?partner=alerts Ford sells Mexican ACH plant. http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2006/12/18/...?partner=alerts Ford sells Milan, Michigan ACH plant. MOU's have been signed.
  2. The Union didn't turn their back on the Retirees. The MEMBERSHIP turned their back on the Retirees. The UAW doesn't even represent the Retirees. Why do you think the membership voted on changing the health care for the Retirees. The Retirees can't vote on contract issues because THEY ARE NOT REPRESENTED BY THE UAW!!!! That why the MEMBERSHIP voted for the change. :slap:
  3. AMEN BROTHER, why has it taken so long for some one to realize just who has the power. It's in our BY-LAWS it's in our CONTRACT and it's in our UAW CONSTITUTION!!!! When is someone going to use these tools that are given to us for just this very reason. NOT TO LET THE UNION GET OUT OF CONTROL LIKE IT IS!!!! Somebody has got to grow some BALLS and stop this madness. The UNION is giving away everything. Can you imagine what is going to happen to all the RETIREES when it comes time for the CONTRACT in September!!!
  4. I really like your Miller logo you must be one of the guys channel 4 busted at the bar. Those guys were from Sterling too. That place must really be a country club!!! You guys really make the rest of us that have to work for a living look bad!!!
  5. Yes, they are saying that the Ford Fusion is the best car Ford has ever built. AND IT'S BUILT IN MEXICO!!!!!
  6. I took the buy out in April. I still owed $17,000.00 on my Expedition. They didn't take it out of my check. :blah:
  7. You will get cut when Social Security kicks in . You will get cut a % for every year that you retired early. Example if you're 55 years old and Social Security kicks in at 65 you will be penalized for retiring 10 years early or about 20% of your Social Security. Your pension drops by what ever amount your Social Security is, but it won't make up for the penality. It will drop by the full amount. So looking at it that way yes you will get less.
  8. I'm still paying $5 for gen. and $10 for brand name scripts with M-Care. Don't know any thing about Medco.
  9. I took the buy out in April. I'm getting my full amount every month less the money that they are taking for surviving spouse and medical insurance. I had 35 years in.
  10. The retirees now pay $11 a month for a single person and $21 a month for a family Plus not more than but up $370 for a single person and $750 for a family in deductable costs. This link might help some. http://futureoftheunion.com/?p=2975
  11. Here's a link to a Real Estate office that has a link to school information in Michigan. Just pick the county that you want and then the school district and it gives you pretty much all the info you want. http://www.mrsold.com/Nav.aspx/Page=http:/...ls/Default.aspx
  12. Here's something else to think about. For years GM and Ford have been saying that the reason they can't compete with the foreign car companies were because of the money that they had to pay to the retirees. If that is really the case then why would they want to create more of what they don't want by offering all these buy outs. Are they creating all these extra retirees so later on down the road they can ask some judge for relief from their pensions????? Makes me wonder. How 'bout you???
  13. In the realestate world you usually put in the contract when you want to close and when you want to take possesion. Now get back in the cage and hand out some gloves. :titanic:
  14. No, you need to pay attention!!! Go back to the first post on this string. I'm just letting them know that they did say that they would use involuntary separations. And yes it is talking about salaried employees, but that is the only place that it was talked about. You know there are some salaried people on this site!!!!
  15. You have that wrong they said that they WOULD use involuntary separations if necessary. The quote from the Way Forward Letter follows below. I take that to mean lay offs. Salaried-related costs will be reduced through the elimination of the equivalent of about 14,000 salaried-related positions, which represents approximately a third of Ford’s North American salaried work force. The reduction includes the equivalent of 4,000 positions eliminated in the first quarter of 2006. The additional reductions will be achieved through early retirements, voluntary separations and, if necessary, involuntary separations – with most employees expected to depart by the end of the first quarter in 2007.
  16. In the last couple of post that the Wizard made he said that he gave ALL the information that he had for now. Let's give him a break. I'm sure that when Wizard has more information on other locations that he will post them. We need to quit hounding him to death about getting more information!!!!!
  17. You guys in Atlanta don't have a thing to be ashamed of ,it's been a good run. I just took a buy out in April but for the last 8 years I made heaters and ac's for the Taurus/ Sable at SRP. We didn't always keep you guys happy but we tried. It's been a pleasure working with all of you. GOOD LUCK!!!!
  18. Because of the size of that check you will have to pick it up at the plant. Had to pick mine up in April.
  19. Looks like it's official. http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2006/07/15/...?partner=alerts
  20. Sure would be funny if no one showed up. Take your hour for lunch but brown bag it. Just think of what kind of message that would send to the company. let the news media in on it so it gets news coverage. Sure would be interesting.
  21. How soon they forget. MTP was already working 4-10's or did you forget about when you had A,B andC crews. When you had three shifts you worked 4 10 hour days. You had one shift that worked M,T,W and Th day shift. You had one shift that worked Th, F,S and S midnights. You had one split shift that worked two days day shift and two days afternoon shift. Or something like that. Anyway it's probably still in your Local contract and the Local contract wins out over the National contract.
  22. No the first three rounds of buy outs at the ACH plants had no age limits they were for 30 years any age. You got $35,000 and full benefits.
  23. Fox channel 2 in Detroit is carrying the broadcast at 10:30 a.m.
  24. Sheldon Rd. Plant 53% NO 47% yes. We also had a low turn out. Not many people even knew that there was a vote. Our benefits rep was to busy promoting an up coming Pistons outing that he was part of!!! What a crock!!!!
  25. What makes you think that it really passed? 51% I think that is a little bit fishy, If the Union had said 52% I might not be so learybut just seeing the numbers that were reported on this site I think the UNION fudged the numbers. They won't even tell the media what the actual numbers were!!!
