  1. I have my paperwork from NESC . I am 60 years old, 19.2 years senority on my retirement date . Will receive approx. $1800 until 62 . At that time I must file for SSN. I will receive a supplement until then . At 62 my pension will be approx. $980.00 . As with every retiree they must file for SSN at 62, and pension is adjusted. I have had conversation with my benefits rep. local, and Intl. and will receive full retirement health benefits.
  2. Has Sheldon Road plant been sold ? If this is true, who was the buyer?
  3. If that is the case , then why are the TPTs at Wayne being asked to go work in the bodyshop?
  4. What is a neutral tow kit, and how does it work ? Was told it was needed for 4X4 wheels down towing and the dealership has no answers. Help is appreciated.
  5. We have a 1998 Mountaineer,4X4, 4.0 L, that we wish to tow behind our motorhome. We had a neutral tow package installed at the local Ford dealership and need some help. At the dealership they have no answers as to why it had to be installed and the use of. In the dinghy tow vehicle mag it was stated that this system had to be insalled, but no info on use. We are leaving for Arkansas during shutdown and need whatever advice that is out there on the use of this system. It is a shame that the part is $11.00, but 2.5 hrs of charged labor to install. Thanking you in advance for any help , and please we have heard all, and I mean all the jokes about the cost of fuel.
  6. Dayshift has people with March 99 seniority. There is a bump allowed under the old local agreement that happens every two weeks. Do not know if there is a freeze on.
  7. Believe it or not , but straight from the union. There are 20 coming from Wixom to Body. Body is going to 3 8 hour shifts after shutdown. No other info on body. We also are getting 20 carpetbaggers back from Flatrock, they are supposed to go to job available. These people have high seniority, but can not confirm ther dates. There is also 79 more coming from ACH in groups of 20, with the last group being placed after shutdown. Still can not get a full list of appointees, and I am not holding my breath.
  8. Getting info from the union is nearly impossible. The rumors are that body will go to 3 8- hour shifts only . Production will run at an increase speed. On nights we run 560 out of a possible 580 in a 10 hour shift with mass relief. Everything is hush hush as the union must get thier people in place first, then give us the info. The union told the company if they need saturdays that we should work at least 9 hours during the week first, before working on a sat. Told that 20 rtbu were sent to body, and that they need more time to assilimate the flowback people. Translation, how to hide the preferred temps.
  9. The green slate has been in power for years. This is quite the political machine with little or no resistance. With the infusion of MTP people and Flatrock people accountability is being called into the question. The green slate does not like this. The president elect came down Fri. and said that the decision was not final. He listen to a few good union people and left the area. The qualifications that are looked for to get an appt. are union invovlement (butt kissing) and merit, ability, and work record. Those are his words.. They are also considering another person with 99 seniority for an appt. There apparently are no hugher seniority people available. Bottom line, I DID NOT VOTE GREEN. Ask anyone and they will also say that they did not either , but they were elected anyway. Remember though its all good.
  10. We do not have a local agreement as of yet, why is that? Could it be that the UNION is down in Myrtle Beach playing golf? Who is picking up that tab? They are being coded U on the DROT , but we are being told that there is no pay involved. Maybe to those of us who care a little investigation is due of the finances of our esteemed officals. Could we use our union negotiated legal benefit to file a FOIA ? I bet that would piss someone off. Bottom line, we are in good hands with our newly lifetime appointee with 99 seniority ( he was FIRED for stealing airbags at Flatrock ) so not to worry. Also he has brought along another good Union brother to be his alternate. The appointment is for Overtime Coordinator. Is there not anybody who cares about this. We are not making any headway at Region or International. They tell us it is a Local Matter. People of Wayne tell your Committee person and whoever you can, these people DO NOT deserve this perk. Maybe then we can get a local agreement.Need info on Pattern Makers right to bow out of Union also.
  11. Now that the election is over congrats to the re-elected and newly elected. This is the time that you the elected will be looking for alternates and appointeees to fill certain Union jobs. I remind you of the past history of one of your most recent appointees, as it seems that you the Union are in the dark about this person. His name is Rob Martin. He is a great business man, except his inventory was not his. Rob was a committee person at Flat Rock and was FIRED for stealing airbags. He was not prosecuted, as he rolled over on other people as we are told. He surfaced at MTP in 1999,and went through his act, became an alternate, and was either appointed or elected( the jury is out on that) to a district committeperson. He was an strong independent, not a green slate person, as he proclaims to be now. He signed a letter from the Plant Chairman all for the COA, but says he was told to. Which is his stance? There were several allegations of falsification medical documents surounding Rob, but he must of learned from Flat Rock. The local union must make hard choices in choosing thier people. These people should be above reproach. They should have no attendance or discipline problems. There should be an interview process. It is time to chose the right way, not use politcal favors, cronyism, and the good old boy network. It is my belief that Rob has more baggage and is looking out for only himself. There are alot of more deserving union brothers and sisters that should be considered.
  12. I called Security and they had no clue. I called the union offices, no answer. Finally got through to a live body at Labor. His answer was no work dayshift today, has no clue abouit nights or tomorrow, and if checks will be handed out. Apparently I am just to stay close to the radio and listen to WJR, or WWJ. Any contact numbers or info is appreciated.
  13. As a Veteran, I am so happy that Veterans' Day means nothing more to you than just a day off. Maybe just maybe you could reflect for a minute for the freedoms that you and yours enjoy, and how they came about. It saddens me that people don't care.
  14. I love my 96 Ranger. It has a 7 foot bed and no Air, roll down the windows, need a key to open doors no remote, 60/40 bench and am/fm radio. It has done the work I have asked it and more. The only major repair in 160,000 miles were the front brakes and a new battery. It is driven mostly on the freeway. My problem is when it is started the seat belt chime continues forever. I always buckle my seatbelt before starting the truck, and this ringing is starting to drive me crazy. I need help. I would have bought a new Ranger but the dealer will not let me have it my way. I work at a Ford assembly plant on the line for 12 years and know that what I asked for is not out of the realm. Anyway, any help on my problem is greatly appreciated. I will just keep what I have for another 160,000 miles.
  15. His seniority date is July 15, 1996. His daddy worked in the body shop and was responsible for him to come back to work after his "knee injury". There were also a few rehab trips too.
