  1. No. It is a convenient coincidence. If Pentastar did not charge him for the flights then it could get tricky from a tax perspective.
  2. What happens when Ford sells Volvo? Maybe they figure they can get more for company with Horbury on board.
  3. The new CX-7 looks like a character from the movie cars.

  6. It is catching on! I sold and delivered 3 of them last week. I have noticed that woman do not like the two-tone roof but men do. I also think that men are more drawn to the vehicle for their wife to drive than their wives are but once you put them on a demo drive, they are sold. Hey remember when the Taurus came out and everyone said it looked like an egg and it will never sell. It didn't take long for everyone to follow. Put a Flex next to a Grand Cherokee or even a new Caravan and the Flex looks modern and the rest looks tired. I didn't like it at first but it has grown bigtime on me and people I deal with every day.
  7. It could be but Fusions have pretty high residuals to begin with. Focus' are worth at least $2,000 more than their L.E.V
  8. The reason that you are seeing more Limited's around Metro Detroit is that they have an extra $750 RCL rebate on them that make them more attractive on a lease. A Limited is only about $10 dollars more vs an SEL on a lease which is about 80% of our sales in this Metro market. An X plan customer does not get this rebate, so an SEL would be better for them. In our economy, a lot of people are buying a payment not the car of their dreams. The closer you are to Dearborn, the more Limiteds you are going to see.
  9. What they are doing is looking at the most logical/underperforming stores to close. Lets say Dealer A is on the same road as Dealer B and C just spread out by 5 miles each. If B in the middle is not cutting it then it would be the store to close. If B were to close it's doors the owner would want $$$. Ford then tells Dealer A he should get x% of "B" customers and "C" would get the other % if B decides to close. Ford will give B some $$ to close its doors but "A" and "C" have to buy out the rest of what is deemed fair on a percentage basis. That in a nut shell is what is happining. If B" says he is not selling no matter what, I am sure the factory can find a way to starve him of product so that the store becomes a Black hole of red ink. Gone are the days of the service department picking up 100% of the absortion ratio. The quality is so good these days that our service techs feel like the maytag repair man.
  10. It is amazing how many of the ideas made it to production. Just watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPM1nJYB6cw...ted&search=

  12. Just about everything anywhere is for sale at the right price! If you live in a $200,000 house and someone knocks on your door and says "I want to buy your house" and you respond "it is not for sale". They offer $1,000,000 then you say "sold".
