I don't know of any temps at our plant. I haven't seen any since before X-mas. I think there might have been a communication breakdown between chairman's. I also don't know about the 10-12 hours. It is really slow at Woodhaven, as slow as I've ever seen it!

We do not have anyone on TLO anymore! After the buy-outs ended, everyone that was on TLO either went back to production or went on idefinite lay-off. As far as the land in front of Woodhaven, they sold it! They built a Lowe's and they are building a Kohls. There supposed to build some more stuff like restaurants and maybe even a strip mall.

Does anyone know when they will start selling the new 08' Bullitt and if they are taking orders for them? I want one and don't want to miss my chance at one. Only 7000 made for America.

Does anyone know anything about the status of the Machine Repair trade? I'm from Woodhaven Stamping and we have 14 M/R either cut-back, laid-off or in Gen. We've been hearing that Dearborn might have openings. If anyone has heard anything please reply! Thanks!

Yes Woodhaven has trades on layoff! I'm a tradesmen that is on ILO. What plant are you from? What trades are you sending to Woodhaven? My understanding is that while we have guys on ILO, we can't except people!

Apparently we didn't get enough trades to take the buyout! Thats what they told us. Even though we've almost cut are plant population by a third! I think we've had almost 500 people leave.

The layoff was machine repair, millright, electrician, pipefitter. All the trades got hit except tool and die.

Was it Wayne Stamping or Woodhaven Stamping? One article said Woodhaven another mentioned Wayne. Does anybody know for sure? I didn't think Wayne Stamping was a seperate facility. I thought it was included with the Assembly! You never here of Wayne Stamping when you talk about the stampers! You've got Chicago, Buffalo, Woodhaven, Maumee and Walton Hills.

Does anyone know how many people have signed up for the buyout at Woodhaven Stamping? Also, do they want to have a certain number from all classifications go, or do they just want a set total number? If so, what is that number? Will there be ILO's if they don't get there number?

I was wondering if anyone new any numbers as far as buyouts go at Woodhaven Stamping? Particularily trade buyout numbers! I'm a tradesmen there and I've been on Inverse layoff for awhile and have kind of been out of the loop! Thanks!

Why does everyone think that 30,000 people are going to get laid off? When they announced the revitilization plan in 2002 we had 170,000 hourly and salaried workers in north america, now, four years later we have 124,000 workers. In four years they shed 54,000 jobs. This new plan states that the jobs will be eliminated by 2012, thats 6 years from now. Half of the skilled trades workers are eligible to retire. Most of the jobs lost will be thru attrition. I feel for the low seniority worker at plants that will close, because they will get laid off for some time but they will be back. I don't have much seniority either, only 5 years, but I'm in the trades I think that I should be safe. If the old guys would just retire. There are guys at our plant that have 40+ years. From Woodhaven! Good luck to all!!

I thought for an hourly worker being vested with the company meant some sort of protection?

I guess the word I was thinking of was vested. I thought it was 10 years, I have 5 years seniority. So that means I barely made it. Now what good does that do for me? Does that protect me in any way, as far as losing my job?
