  1. boss got a suburban, lt package i believe......nice vehicle. 9k on the odo so far and no problems or complaints. has fuel management, goes to vermont and get s 20mpg... maybe alittle slower than i drive, but 20 mpg is good imo. my '03 navi never accomplished that, maybe 15, 16 mpg at best on highway.
  2. i wonder what kinda fuel economy the new expe el will get ?? my boss just did a 07 surburban, 20mpg highway on a vermont run....not bad compared to his 03 yukon denali....that was barely 15
  3. hancook, havent had any problems with the e rated on the van or last gmc pickup. my daughter s mazda blew a michelin out, of course after running into a curb, no rim damage, but ruined the tire, 248 bucks later, back on the road. no road side assitance ? who said that ? i thought all / most ford products came with road side assitance. my e350 did, and have used it.
  4. i traded my rco leased 03 navi for my pickup, no inspections, and got a sales tax credit on the traded value. every lease i ve ever had always had a 300 to 500 suprised charge after turning in. this last one was 1200 bucks in my favor :happy feet: . boss recently turned in gmc denali, after 3 yr 36000 mile lease, got a bill for $ 32,500.. got it straightened out, was clerical error.......
  5. replacing a s600 with a navigator ? thats a 180 ! that like me, sold navi, replaced with a gmc sierra 4x4 crew cab pickup, with the dmax diesel. having had 3 navigators, they were good. served the purpose, mpg sucked thou on the 03, never above 15
  6. went to licoln dealer to test drive milan with daughter, attached was a mazda dealer......ended up with mazda 6I instead. much for sporty looking for kid. dont know if lincoln dealers picking up mazda s will help lincoln sales. not much to see at lincoln dealer anymore imo. done with navi s now after having 4 of them and seeing the 07 s really sent me out of the buying mode. price tag didnt help either.
  7. mercedes is bringing the diesel in 2 or 3 more cars by 08.. the c class get s a 4 cyl diesel, m class gets the 6 cyl diesel, g class also, and in 08 the s class get s a v8 diesel. the current e class with the 6 cyl diesel, 40 mpg on a high performance diesel.wow.......0-60 in under 6 seconds........ so, it can be done !!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. navi is on the way to new home, thanks for pm s !
  9. i dont know about that, have seen plenty of diehard fords guys switch to dmax or to a ford gasser. many fleet owner s of ford vans with the diesels are headed to gassers also. i think they thought that about the 6.0 when compard to a 7.3 reliability i ve lost count on the buyback posts over at the diesel stop. the 6.0 was in response to all the 1st tier emmisions requirements, the 6.4 for the 07 requirements. the simplicity of the 7.3 is long gone due to emmisions. all the intial hype of the 6.0 reliability, better fuel economy, ( most have seen less than ye ole 7.3) ford had better done their homework before the next release on the 6.4 psd. i dont think they can afford another diesel f up. back in 96, on my 7.3 psd van, navistar would do any of the serious service work on the engine. i think now all they do is build the engines and ford puts everything else together and service. i had injectors problems with my 02 d max, should have kept it thou, gm extended the injector warranty to 7 years 200,000 miles on the '01 and '02 s. i sold as i was close to 100k warranty end and didnt want to bear the expense of injectors, but soon after i sold it , gm did the right thing . id say my van has had about 6000 bucks worth of warranty work already, that was just the problems with turbo issues, ( selling dealer just throwing parts at it) and it s gonna cost ford a few thousand more in a settlement for breach of warranty . trade in values suck on the 6.0 s. i ordered a gm, and dealer low balled a offer on my van. 2 others wouldnt even consider it for a trade even if it meant losing a sale. funny part is dealer gave me good trade value on my navi so that s the trade for the gm. said full size suvs are hot despite gas prices. so for me, for the next few years i m taking a break from fords & lincolns. thats another $$$ loss for ford.
  10. yeh, like i d buy a new diesel product ford had anything to do with for the first 5 years or so. my 6.0 van is testiment to that. figured by 04 they d have it debugged....... not!!!!!!!!!! im moving onto a gm, had it with ford for now. ok i m done complaining
  11. i liked the e series for many year s also, learned to drive on a '76 e250, owned '89, '92, '96psd, '99psd, '01psd, '03psd, and now a '04 psd. all cargo vans. just wish ford would have done alittle better with the 6.0 psd..... i use for a daily driver be fine with me if they didnt change for another 20 years. could never drive a gm van for daily driver. not very comfortable for me.
  12. any interest ? down to couple weeks before new trucks come s in .........then it s traded in........ thanks !
  13. fusion didnt do much for me, bought a mazda 6 instead, more sporty, extra year on warranty, and better deal, least was on christmas eve.. my daughter liked the mazda 6 better also.

  15. epa in new jersey annouced last week it want s to retrofit ALL existing diesels to included particulate traps and introduce engine idle laws with strict enforcemnet, to reduce the emmisions levels..... they ve requested this several times already, but it s just a matter of time until the statehouse gives in. then it s an expensive add on for all diesel owners. epa claim s the emmisions are a primary contributor to the large number of respitory problems in the state, which couldnt have anything to do with the number of refineries thou  i see more and more local delivery companies changing to gassers as they upgrade fleets..... funny thou how in europe, diesels are everywhere. i dont get it. a diesel ex getting 17, 18 mpg vs the gas counterpart at 13, 14 mpg, the gasser would pollute more , no ? more fuel burned, more pollution ?
  16. check out thedieselstop.com, lot s of 6.0 stories there, including mine. i m in the van forum. there s gotta be a oil supply problem or something to the turbo to be roasting them after 500 miles ?? dealer has a whole checklist to go thru, including fuel cetane rating, engine oil quality. they re blaming the diesel fuel quality on turbo failures ? oh boy
  17. i dont think the sprinter would replace econoline...many service companies are ok with the size of econoline. i could nt see the need of sears replacing their fleet of vans with sprinters. too big for service imo...... although it be nice if their fuel economy picked up alittle....my all around mpg is about 16 with the 6.0 diesel. mines a daily commuter now, everyday hauler.... like it better than pickup. push of a button , all doors lock....pickup with cap didnt work out to well for me... sprinters wont fit in most parking garages....and ford sells tons of econolines for passenger use.
  18. good techs in the service dept are the glue holding ford together. i gotta say thou, i was at wit s end with the situation. but luckily toms ford tech got right on the problem. 4 days and all better. i think it s a combo of leary techs, and dealer s not wanting to throw parts at a vehicle and have ford charge them back...... i m wondering if the first dealer will get the MAF sensor they replaced that i didnt need on a charge back...
  19. dont hold your breath on that baby psd in a expedition lineup ......... imo the government is holding out on all diesels in this country..... they dont want them here, laying in heavy with emmisions standards, and raising diesel prices......all to keep us from driving them. if i go another van, it s going to be a v10 probally...... another navi......maybe at end of year when the long version comes out.....but will only have the 5.4 i ve seen some posts over at the thedieselstop.com site that some, a couple new excursions still are on dealer lots hear and there..... maybe not anymore but ya never know.
  20. check out lemonlaw.com site........ sent them an email with your details.......but be sure to tell them about your pending case. 4 turbos ? to me sounds like something else is wrong......injectors, inj pump ? who knows. but no way 4 turbos........... good luck
  21. toms ford to the rescue , keyport nj. new turbo couple o rings to take care of oil leak exhaust fumes related to failed turbo......... 2 days commuting...... all good. turbo alittle more noise, but air noise, kinda like air compressor relief valve on hard acceleration. other than that, all is good again.
  22. to follow up on my earlier post, took van to toms ford, keyport nj..... on sunday, picked up last nite..... zoom zoom is back...... no exhaust oder, no problem with power, in fact , better than when first picked up.. i have figured this is all related to the dealers techs and the willingness of the techs to properly diagnose problems. parts replaced included turbo assembly with updated unit.... oil leak that was causing damp oil stain on bell housing was also fixed, was a o ring on the cam shaft position manifold..... 2 o rings and that problem is solved....... original dealer said rear engine seal and ford considers that dampness normal  so, i m happy again.......... just need to get my fords from somewhere else now. professional service from toms ford..... took them only 3 days to do what other dealer spent 3 weeks messing with. and claiming nothing was wrong.........
  23. had the same problems with my 60 van, ran like shit, no power, 35mph at most at times with pedal floored.. gave up and finally took to another dealer today, they found codes a plenty, replacing turbo, and turbo down pipe..... also had aweful exhaust fumes in the van..... lets see how things turn out...... i see other post s here regarding resale / trade values, went looking at gm s, 2 dealers low balled trade value, 1 dealer said, ferd 6.0, no thanks...... didnt want trade even if losing sale... me buy another ford diesel? probally not until the 6.4 is out for at least 5 years....... i m not going to be a beta tester again
  24. todays update, last trip to dealer yielded a new MAF sensor, but after 1 st of driving, airbox was coughing, and plumes of smoke from the tailpipe. i finally gave up on dealer, went to another, but got a call they didnt want to work on it given it s oasis report, i pleaded with them to at least scan for codes, if no codes , i ll pay for time spent, and go on my way to lemonville. anyway, they called later in the afternoon, found lots of codes , took some time to figure all of them out. but now replacing turbo, and look at downpipe for source of exhaust fumes in van. so maybe there s some hope. another ford diesel in my lifetime ? i dont think so. i think they took a 5.4 gasser, bored it out and fueled it with diesel.......... :poke:
  25. dealer can get back into system to tweak a order. but hurry.... color change shouldnt be a problem
