  1. Maybe but Natural Aspirated there is no way I can catch up with the Camaro with the displacment advantage it has. I have JLT II CAI, Steeda UDP, STEEDA CMDP, FRPP 4.10 Gears, Aluminum one peice driveshaft, Steeda Upper and lower control arms, 3500 Stall, JBA Long tube headers and JBA Catted H pipe and run average 12.4 in the 1/4 mile. A 2002 Camaro SS can run that with a Lid and a few free mods. Add a intake and cam and 11.8 are a breaze. there is no way the Tiny 4.6L will ever keep up with that N/A.. Here is a pic of another friends T/A with Cam, Heads, intake, tune and Dr's stock bottom end Yes the front tires are off the ground
  2. One I can Afford.... and one priced the same as the Camaro RS/SS 30K-38K the 2010 Mustang is in that same price range 29K-37K where as a GT500 is 10K to 15K more.
  3. 2009 East Coast S197 Mustang Shootout Announcement Five Guys Racing is pleased to announce the First Annual East Coast S197 Mustang Shootout at Rockingham Dragway (http://www.rockinghamdragway.com/ ) in Rockingham, North Carolina, on Sunday, November 1, 2009. “The Rock” provides a centrally located, easily accessed facility on the Eastern seaboard complete with concessons, sponsor space, and nearby hotels. Originally intended to focus on the 4.6l naturally aspirated S197 with four, heads-up side-by-side race classes, due to popular demand the forced induction crowd is invited to participate in two classes for added excitement. The facility will manage a Sportsman ladder, and racers will face a .5 Pro Tree. The overall emphasis is on street cars you can live with and drive every day, so all cars must be tagged and registered, and cannot be gutted. Winners in each class will receive trophies, and awards are being developed as well (best 60 foot, longest road trip to the event, etc.) The following classes have been developed: NA Classes Pure Street--4.6l and close to stock Street--4.6l bolt-on crowd Modified Street--cams, longtubes, tubular suspensions and non-DOT tires Street Eliminator--ported heads, bored and stroked mod motor blocks and as light as you can get the car FI Classes Wild Street--close to stock with turbo, supercharger or nitrous Street Outlaw--no explanation needed Event rules and current class descriptions can be found on the website and forum . Check back periodically as further information regarding entry fees, driver’s meeting, lodging and other items will be become available. 4. no is the Mustang Goes Front Wheel Drive and a tiny engine, I am buying a Camaro in 2011 I want to live to see the Day the Mustang will beat a Camaro of the show room floor. Give us a 400hp + Mustang or I quit...
  5. I for one have only had my car in the shop once for an issue. I have a 2005 Mustang GT and have 71,000 miles now, I race every weekend at the track and other than my abuse, the cars runs spectacular. I had replaced the Rear end Bushings on both Lower and upper controls arms but that is again my abuse, a normal car would not see Launching at 3000 rpm with Drag Radials and running upto 110 mph 5-8 times a week
  6. I agree 100% with your post, We need a 400= HP Car that will compete with the Camaro and Challanger, I am tired of being beat at the track by 10 year old F-bodies with just a cam. I do not want to supercharge my car to beat them, Give us a Naturally Asperated 400hp Mustang period.
  7. I pull mine every 10K to clean them. I race my 2005 Mustang so I don't see the carbon buildup that daily drivers do. I replaced the plugs at 35K I now have 70K on the car.
  8. I was disapointed at the performance of my 2005 Mustang GT, My friends 8 year old Camaro SS ran as fast as my "New Mustang" I had to spend several thousand dollars in FRPP Parts to out run him at the track. He in turn put a cam in for 300 bucks and beat me by a half second. Why does Ford always want to be behind the curve with GM Products. Then I thought that the 2010 Mustang would finally be the answer to beating the new Camaro, but when new of the Camaro coming out with a 422hp 400 tq 6 speed cat that will run 12.9 sec in the 1/4 mile for 30K. I again had my hopes sqawashed when the 2010 Mustang was fitted with a new Coild air intake and tuned 4.6L that made 315 hp depression set in, once again I am going to have to hear from all my GM buddies how wimpy the mustang is compaired to the all powerful Camaro... Why oh why do I have to go through the pain of Loving Ford Product even though they do not perform. So My Wish List is that For Once Put a Dam Motor in the Mustang that will beat the Camaro.... Come on already, you have them,, 5.0 Coyote, Hurricane, 5.4L 4v Give me 400 hp somthing to work with here... When My Honda makes more hp than my GT Mustang somthing is wrong.......
