  1. For 2009 I would like to see (in addition to what we already know): A sports-package that includes body cladding (a la Mazda6) and a stiffer suspension Available 6-speed manual borrowed from the Mazda6 Optional 18-inch chrome rims on SEL models Iced-blue interior lights Rear seat air/heat vents A glove-box light!!! I think all are very feasible... Nonetheless, the current Fusion is a very competent and competitive product from Ford.
  2. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/03/16/toyota-...rontal-crash-t/ "No doubt the Tundra's performance in this test will again focus scrutiny on the truck's frame, which is not fully boxed like its competition." Sure, it's only one-star less than the domestics, but isn’t this truck supposed to be world-class!? It's from Toyota, right?! Just another example of how the Japanese fail at building trucks... It was a clean-sheet design (an expensive one at that!) and it breaks no new ground. The Tundra cannot thrive on engine power alone. Good luck spinning this news story, Toyota. Better raise those incentives which sadly already exist… FuseFord
  3. It has to do with the transmission plant that makes the 4-speed auto (Batavia, Ohio)... The plant is already losing one of its products - the CVT that goes in the 3.0 V6 for the Ford 500 - due to the 2008 re-do which the CVT can't handle the power of the new 3.5 V6. If the Escape went to a 6-speed what would the plant build besides the 2.3 CVT???? The only reason the Escape is sticking with the 4-speed for now is to keep that plant running. Once Batavia closes (I think early '08) the 2009 Escape will get a new trans.
  4. I think the gay comment is spot on... It has effected Ford's business by pure logic: There are far more of those against the gay agenda and propaganda then those who praise Ford for and their disgusting support. There has been an impact. But how much??? We will never know, but one can easily assume Ford's decision won't help them move more vehicles. Now, on a brighter and smarter side. Ford's Edge... I feel they don't have realistic enough projections. It will be a bigger hit than anticipated. There will be more pain and less gain for a few more months until the updated versions of the Escape, SuperDuty, 500…
  5. Well, "The Ujina plant currently is at 87% of its 500,000-unit annual capacity, leaving room for roughly 65,000 more vehicles, Reuters reports." "Japanese auto maker’s output this year has fallen to about 7% of the Valencia plant’s total annual 400,000-unit capacity." --> 28,000 units http://wardsauto.com/home/mazda_ford_spain/ What this means for Ford's B-sized car???... Sharing a plant with Mazda2 would have made great sense operationally through commonality. This can only mean: 1) Sharing a plant with the 2010? Focus in a southern US or Mexico plant (and no more Wayne) 2) Brazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzil baby!
  6. I saw the movie on Saturday... I must say that both my girl-friend and I thought the Mondeo looked nice, but was waaaaaaay too European looking for the US. She like the rear of the car and my Fusion's front end better. What got me going the most was the hot XJ Super V8 Portfolio
  7. looks like Ford might finally have a new stereo unit (big dials????)... the picture is not of the best quality, however. also, it looks like it's sharing a lot of parts with the Fusion - steering wheel, column shifter, door handle + locks... this must mean the Focus and Escape will be sharing the same parts (as they do now). i guess this answers a lot of questions on the post of foci --> http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index...?showtopic=5494
  8. ummmm am I the only one that noticed that the Jag XJ sold only 33 units!!!! what the hell happened?? was there a recall that i'm not aware about, and that dealers had to sit on their inventory. looks like only 1 day of sale...
  9. Ford should invest in the LT by offering a mid-gate panel similar to the Escalade EXT. I'm sure all the structural necessities are in place. The T1 structure should be able to handle it. And, have the technology flow to the F150.
