  1. I understand the need to fund the retiree's....I agree with funding the retiree's.....what I have a problem with is the shortsightedness of past negotiations so they would have been funding their own retirements, we now fund theirs....will the next group fund ours? will their be a UAW to fund ours? This is the problem we all share whether we like it or not..........looking to the guvment isn't going to solve are problems they are more screwed up finacially than we are :-) JMHO
  2. We are still in the dark on how this will affect the trades. I do believe the system that is used in MI will not work here in Missouri, the labor laws are different! Nobody is looking forward to what is coming and are still waiting...............................
  3. Was this concession voted on, or just "delivered" to the trades?
  4. ........and this assumption is based on knowledge, hope, rumour , or wishful thinking? No disrespect, just a very strong statement in very uncertain times.
  5. Yes we had trades show up here in KCAP. I believe "meuaw" is mistaken. I do understand the concern though, as like the rest of you we are trying to make sure we have a job. I imagine those who just arriving at KCAP are discourged to find out we are losing a shift of truck. If it was me I wouldn't like either.
  6. As everyone knows we are having a little shake up here at KCAP. We are losing a shift of F150 production and the SUV side will no longer be working OT. As I understand it now SUV will be working and A,B, and a C shift. A= Mon-Thurs dayshift 10 hrs at 40 hours straight time pay B= Tues-Fri afternoon shift 10 hrs at 40 hours straight time pay+ 5% shift premium C= Fri, Sat day shift 10 hours and Sun Mon afternoon 10 hours. at 40 hours straight time pay + 10 % shift premium Are any of you working this or have worked this arangement before? If so how are the distributing the trades to have enough coverage to support this schedule? Thank you!
  7. I am apologize for my terrible typing and spelling. FDA does affect the cost of the drugs by the required testing FAA does affect the cost of air travel by it regulations As for you and Mr Greenspan's belief that SS isn't going broke, would you be interested in buying a bridge in NY? If you feel it neccesary to call a person names because you don't agree with them or their opinions. To that I say it must be nice to be perfect and all knowing.
  8. I have yet to see the Government Efficiantly run any program. Do you really want the lane brains in Washington doing to Medical like they have done for social securtity (going broke), FAA regulations have done to air travel, FDA has done to drug costs, ect ect ect. JMHO
  9. Yes and all of your brothers and sisters would once again than all of you at DTP for making this a reality.
  10. National Agreements trump Local Agreements. Because of this the local agreements are negotiated second so there isn't any conflicting language between the two agreements.
  11. Truck side will be down, if we aren't outside the gate picketing, the first 2 weeks of October. We are scheduled to return at 4, 10 hour days Monday through Thursday. I am sure this is fluid since we don't have a national or local contract.
  12. Help: My daughters got a 99 Limited from Grandpa. I have said since the thing was new it sat up too high in the front. He has had front differential problems twice, with only 89,000 mile, with it babied its whole life. is it possible that it was built with the wrong torsion bars or springs in the front? Any part numbers I can check? Anybody had a smilar experiance? I appreciate your help Thanks
  13. I must have a really slow internet connection.......did you see the dates on these documents. Nothing like communicating with the rank and file of OUR! union not theirs.
  14. We had Paul Nardozzi here at KCAP. He was not liked! He was not nice! He was an @$%hole! You reap what you sew!
  15. Marty95: Sad to say but I believe you are on the mark! It has been a good ride at Ford and for that I am thankful. But I believe it is time to move on. Best of luck to all of our brothers and sisters .......UAW!
