  1. This is very disappointing. I currently own an '07 MKX purchased at a Lincoln / Mercury dealer that was easily the equal of any Lexus or Infiniti dealer regarding service or the quality of the facility. Unfortunately, the dealership folded and I was forced to use a local Ford dealer for service. The Ford dealer is OK but not nearly the personal service and the facility itself is just plain Kaka. Though I am happy with my car, it now feels like I own a very expensive Ford. I just don't see the perq of owning a premium brand. Ford has to differentiate the Lincoln experience from the Ford experience or not compete in that segment. Next car I'll be looking at Caddy and maybe even hold my nose and consider a fancy Toyota. BTW. I'm one of those customers that moved from Ford to Mercury to Lincoln. I thought that was always the idea to retain customers.
  2. 1952 Ford Customline Tudoor- Used - It's in the garage 1960 Comet Used - Dead since 1969 1965 Galaxie 500 Used - Long gone and not lamented 1968 Fairlane 500 / 390 V-8 Used - Long gone and very much lamented 1973 Maverick 302 V-8 New - Fast and very much missed 1974 F250 4X4 New - It's sitting in front of my house right now. Great truck. 1975 Mercury Bobcat New - Totaled. 1976 Lincoln Connie Used - Apply various nautical terms. 1978 Ford LTD Wagon New - BIG, THIRSTY, and would haul anything. 1979 F150 4X4 New - Beyond torque, not much to recommend it. 1986 Merc Lynx XR3 New - Great fun, sold it at 150K solid as ever 1987 Ford Aerostar New - Good for the 1st 40K 1988 Merc Sable WGN Used - After 100K, everything broke. Nearly put me in the poor house. 1989 Ford Escort GT New - No match for the XR3. Sold at 100K. 1996 Mustang New - Fun but not convenient. 1997 Ranger 4X4 New - Regular cab 4X4. Just too tight. 1999 Ranger 4X4 New - 4 door 4X4. All the whistles and bells. 1st and last lease. 2002 Merc.Mountaineer New - AWD and V8. Great hauler and people mover. 2005 Ford Focus New - Fun and cheap to drive. A 1 or 2 people max sort of car. 2007 Lincoln MKX AWD New - Love it! I've had numerous company cars of many makes. The only non Fords I've actually owned: 1958 Buick Monstro Used - Paid $12 for it, no reverse but smoooth. 1941 Dodge PW 4X4 Used - More of an implement than a pick-up. Driving it was a thrill unmatched in modern times.
  3. I just picked up a new MKX last weekend. I have the trailer tow package but haven't yet found the pigtail either. Riley
  4. Well, there is at least one loyal Mercury customer, no wait, make that two. Myself and my Father in law. Why? Two important reasons. 1. Mercury provides at least some distinction from the ubiquitous Fords. 2. The L/M franchises I have dealt with are far better in service and customer attention than any Ford dealer in my experience. If Mecury vanished, so would I unless there was an affordable line of Lincoln products. 2002 Mountaineer, 2006 Milan.
