  1. Nope- just like everyone else! Make sure to watch American Idol tonight, they'll certainly be showing the 2010 Fusion ads. Great idea- advertise a car that isn't in the showroom yet.
  2. My dealer talked to one of the big wigs at Ford. He said there are too many 09 Fusions on dealers' lots so they are waiting to ship the 2010's.
  3. You're already ahead of the game compared to most people on this subject- you realize all of the white collar jobs that are created by an American car company. Why do people always forget about them?? But hey we want to help American blue collar employees too, and we still can- even if we buy a Ford car made in Mexico. How? Revenues from the sales of those cars go to retired employees' pensions and health insurance. If you look at it that way, it's a no-brainer.
  4. Mine's been built for 2 weeks but no invoice yet, so it's still sitting on hold.
  5. Ordered 11/4/08 Build week 2/2/09 No updates yet but I expect it before the end of February!
  6. You need to give us more info than that. Are the screens aftermarket? Are they in the headrests? If so- try pushing on the corners of the screens to see if they pop out. Those screens have built-in DVD players that side-load.
  7. You and your wife are the few of us that are left that "like the driving dynamics of a truck based SUV over a crossover/car based "utility" vehicle". There's not too much longer to get your hands on one. It's kind of like the Bronco, I wish I had the money (or the age) to buy one when they were new because I'd love to have one right now. So I plan on keeping my Explorer for a long time- midsize BOF SUV's will be goners and I'll be lucky enough to have a good one. As far as reliability, the longer a vehicle is in a lifecycle, typically, the less problem-prone it is. You have done the research and test-driven the comparables, now go buy what you like!!
  8. Well a fuse box replacement isn't all that tough if you are 12V-inclined, but judging by what you say about worrying about blowing up things, and please don't take this the wrong way, it's probably best if you have a pro do it. I'm not sure if the keys are married to this module or another one. If they are, you'll have problems programming the new one due to the fact that you need the original 2 keys to put into programming mode, unless you are a dealer. Again, probably best to have a pro do it.
  9. Get used to it. And more than just Nissan does it.
  10. I bumped this since someone was asking for the order guide. Ice Capades you are awesome for staying on top of these. Also you can get a version of this order guide on the 2010 Mustang mini-site from Ford, that's the first time I've seen them do something like that.
  11. The actual build week is 2/2. I didn't ask my dealer for the VIN though. This is the 4th car I've ordered from Ford, so I know what to expect- the unexpected! Always count on your car arriving later than expected. So I'm planning for late March. If it shows up before then- I'll be pleasantly surprised!
  12. Update on mine- to be built the first week of February. That's earlier than I thought!
  13. More like "AWD--almost never." The system always seems to try traction control first, then uses 4X4 as a last resort.
  14. That makes sense, good to know. I think you get a Rapid Spec discount too, so it may be worth it to get the extra stuff for a little bit more. "And quit calling me Surely"
  15. Yes!!! I saw a Quigley van at last year's auto show, I liked it.
  16. I didn't realize you could order a vehicle with OUT a Rapid Spec package. Is that true? Maybe Ice or another dealer can weigh in here. If a Rapid Spec package is required, you'll have to order 302A and add the Nav option.
  17. Is the Quigley deal invoiced together at your dealer, or is it a separate bill to them? I've always wondered how "close in bed" Quigley is to Ford. And, if you don't mind answering, how much did the conversion cost?
  18. Of the 3 tire places I went to yesterday, only 1 told me that. They weren't really interested in doing that. They all just want to move new tires, and I guess I can't blame them for that. The Ford dealer parts guy was the most helpful, and even though the prices were a bit higher, I may go with them just because he took the time. I don't know, I'm not sure how it makes me feel to know that the cheap version is supplied first, now I'm supposed to buy the replacements, but I'm told they are better. I'm the first one in the room to understand cost-cutting and price points, and I am very brand-loyal, but this kind of leaves me with a bad taste. I wouldn't feel that way if the good ones were supplied first. I'll probably go with the Firestones- they are some of the best-rated on the web with a really great price at the local shop. Besides, that whole recall thing was what, 8 or 9 years ago??? Ah, the good old days.
  19. You may be right. It seems like everyone I talk to about this had better luck with the replacement set.
  20. Yeah I'm not looking for anything free, but damn if you list 65,000 on your tire it should at least be kind of close! I guess I should be happy that I atleast got 30,000 out of them, and they are a quiet and solid tire. But, I won't be buying these tires again unless they prorate a little. I'll trade a little noise for better wear and better traction in the snow.
  21. Anyone else find these tires are wearing out WAY before the 65,000 mile warranty? I have the 18's, I'm at 30,000 miles and there's barely any tread left. The warranty card says that, in order for the warranty to pro-rate the cost of new ones, I would have had to go to an authorized Michelin dealer to get them rotated every 7500 miles. Well, sorry I'm one of those guys who still likes to do that stuff for free at home. I'm probably going to call them up first, or should I start at the tire store?
  22. I hope you are right, though it would be the most accurate way to measure! I find it's hard as hell to read a dipstick.
  23. I've never measured how much drains out when I change my oil, so I couldn't tell you if I'm experiencing the same problem or not. Is that what you do? Anyone else?
  24. As a ford accessory, yes, only the rubber mats are available. I'm a fan of the Husky Liners, that's what I have in mine.
  25. I'm not sure about the 2009 model because I didn't compare between the 2, I wanted a 2010 from the start. FYI Rapid Spec 301A is $24052 on X Plan.
