  1. A bunch of guys that are already gone from the company are to thank for that decision... the guys there now wish it weren't so.
  2. Wow this will be some lineup for Lincoln within about 15 months... imagine the possibilities: Navigator (big truck-based SUV) 30k/yr MKZ (mid-size sedan) 40k/yr MKS (large sedan) 30k/yr MKX (medium CUV) 40k/yr MKP (people hauler based off of the Fairlane) 30k/yr Mark LT 10k/yr Towncar (livery) 45k/yr MKR (midsize RWD sports sedan) 30k/yr That's 8 vehicles and sales of well over 200k, putting Lincoln right back in the hunt. 250k is well within reach.
  3. The point of leaving it off of the Nav system as a seperate item is to make it affordable to a wider group of customers... chances are it would be an option if it WERE connected to the nav... and not everybody with the Nav would want to pay for it. This way Ford was smart and they made it available to almost all... as long as they have the wheel controls.
  4. I haven't heard ANYTHING from Ford on the Hybrid front in a really long time. It seems GM has been making all the noise lately. I read today that GM was unveiling 12 new hybrids this year. Plus that Volt was a sweet concept. 150 MPG and no transmission. How cool. I saw this video on how it worked. http://www.rpmdaily.com/Video.html A hybrid Focus or a diesel Focus would be a step in the right direction. Last I heard these are the vehicles that would be getting hybrid powertrains: Fusion, Milan, Escape, Tribute, Mariner, maybe Edge eventually. Am I missing anyone?
  5. I think the Sync will fly much eisier with it not being tied to navigation. I think it's ridiculous that you have to buy a navigation device for $2000 to get interactivity... I can get a 50' plasma for the living room and stick with the radio in a Focus and get most of what I need.
  6. The MKR is dead-sexy. It's a build it or else proposition... even 90% of a MKR will make me happy.
  7. I think that most of these guys (I-GiG for example) using the Nav system was a crappy deal... too unaffordable for most of the people that use iPods and blue tooth. Think about it... a nav system is like $2000. You can buy a 50 inch plasma for that much. It's ridiculous.
  8. I thought the SYNC was one of the cooler things at the auto show... I hate getting calls in the car and I think it has taken too long for items like this to get to the market. It's about time Ford is really getting bold and doing something like this. Check out this video on http://www.rpmdaily.com... it's a demo from a microsoft guy on the Sync. Very cool. It's under the video section.
