  1. suv_guy_19- Will you grow a back bone or are all Canadians like this? Ed- You must be epidome of the lowest common denominator, at least that is what coming across in your posting. Step away from the computer and calm down, this is just my opinion. Feel free to purchase any vehicle you like, even a Lincoln. No need to take my posting into account. Yes Ecoboost sounds promising, but its not available now, odd again considering Mazda has "Ecoboost" vehicles currently in production. Furthermore, if these ecoboost engines are wrapped around any of Fords current NA sheetmetal and interiors, why bother?
  2. My my things sure have gotten vile around here. Rich- No I don't think myself better than anyone. Just work hard for my money and can't justify, currently, spending it on a Ford Mike- "If the Edge had HID headlights and three rows of seating I would have one." If Grandma had balls she would be Grandpa. If and but don't cut it, either you can live with the products they have now or you simply don't buy them, as you have chosen not to do. J-150- Sorry about your mother's Benz, they are beatiful fast cars, albiet unreliable, but beatiful and fast. Alas, it seems you were unaware of reliable competiting models, let's see. There is the Infiniti G35, Cadillac CTS, Lexus IS 350, Acura TL. Honda Accord Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Chevrolet Malibu, Infiniti FX, Lexus RX, Cadillac SRX, Lexus GX, Acura MDX, Honda Civic.............. Should I continue?
  3. First, why do you guys take my personal criticism of Ford so personally? Second, what is a negaspasm? Third, there is just nothing to heap praise on? This shouldn't be the case especially with the engineering talent of Mazda, FoE, , at their disposal. I want a desirable sedan or hatchback, not a truck, not a SUV, not a Crossover, I am not getting that from FoMoCo. I expect a competive power train, modern conviences, above average quality, low maintenance cost, some personal luxury, emotional design aspects, and exceptional safety. That leaves me with what? Mazda Speed3 and............?
  4. Yes, superior to a "lowly" Ford. No I'm sticking around, just venting my fustration. BTW, why don't you drive a core Ford brand product, being such an advocate and all I thought that would be a simple choice?
  5. I have watched this board go back and forth over the years, and I have come to this conclusion. Continue driving your Fords Mercurys, and Lincolns. I can't do it, at least until this company builds a product that has trully competive in all aspects and not boiled down to the lowest common emotional, mechanical, and functional denominator :boring: . It appears this business model has attracted an audience, I just can't be a part of it. It is trully saddening as I was once a proud supporter of the Blue Oval. There is no life or passion here. I just can't spend my hard earned coing for a (especially Lincoln) ___________ when I can have any number of its superior competitors for the same price? I am begging you Ford, give me a reason, and yet here I am still waiting all these years later.
  6. Actually toyota is well cushioned. Plenty of cash, new product (gas efficient vehicles at that), blah, blah, blah. I know its sickening but it fact.
  7. The number to look at was Highlander sales, especially in comparison to November.
  8. What I'm saying demand for the Edge will most likely go down as newer competition, (Flex, Murano, Pilot, Venza, etc.) comes online and recession fears give pause to buyers, December is the beginning. BTW Tim a Highlander comes with the 3.5 V6 Standard and only optional powertrain is the hybrid synery drive.
  9. Please don't take my word for it. October http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index...showtopic=17978 November http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index...showtopic=19004 December http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index...showtopic=19708 All referenced from here and competing websites. http://media.ford.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=27379
  10. Yes the Highlander was the best selling mid-sized CUV of December. Although it was introduced in October slow sales start was due to ramp up of production. I believe they're selling like hotcakes now, at the Edges expense. I believe this trend will continue with the introduction of the New Murano, Pilot, and aforementioned Venza and Flex.
  11. The Highlander is Toyota's 7 Passenger CUV not the Venza and the Highlander was #1 in December.
  12. Other than the questionable interior center console design, think its quite hansome, however I also think the Highlander and Murano are absolutely stunning. On a side note, the Venza is based on the Toyota FT-SX concept that debuted at the 2005 Detroit Auto Show, pre-dating the Ford Edge. I hope Ford can withstand the one-two punch (Highlander and Venza) of Toyota, let a long pile on by Nissan and Honda. Sales for the Edge are already slipping and when is the Flex going to be available at dealerships?
  13. We can only wish. I'm sold. http://jalopnik.com/342341/detroit-auto-sh...eaks-officially
