  1. Thanks to those that at least read my question. I believe the solution has been found. A most kind Ford engineer, related to a friend, took a look at an image of the fuel tank. The nylon tube that carries fuel from one side of the tank to the side with the fuel pump appears to be the issue. When I related this to the dealer, they let the car run until it starved for fuel, opened the second tank inspection port and low and behold, the tank was half full. New tank on order
  2. This is my idea of a full house!
  3. At the end of May I ran out of gas in my '05 Mustang GT with 1/4 tank showing on the guage. My local dealer was great, diagnosed a Fuel Sender and replaced it. Last week driving down I-75 in Kentucky I ran out again with a hair under 1/2 tank showing on the guage. Just made it a mile to an exit and a gas station. Filled it up and it took 8 gallons. ?? almost a half tank right?? On the way back to Michigan a few days later I conducted an experiement (with a can of gas in the trunk), and ran out again, this time it took 8.5 gallons to fill. Dealer ordered another Fuel Sensor, but called me back and said the Factory cancelled their order. The dealer is waiting for an answer on what could be wrong. So they have nothing to tell me. This dealer is great, a real credit to Ford, I kind of feel bad when I stand in front of them and they have no info to share with me. To me it sounds like the fuel pickup isn't reaching the bottom of the tank, but I'm just the driver. The car has 8,200 miles on it, so it spends a lot of time in the garage under a cover. Love this car, built the last day of '05 production. Sorry to get long winded. Anybody have any suggestions?

  5. What a great idea, maybe even someone at Ford will act to recognize these "special" dealers, the ones who truly understand the defination of the word SERVICE. I purchased my '05 Mustang GT in March of '05 from Seymour Ford of Jackson, MI. A small town dealer. In March of '05 any Mustang was a fast sale for any dealer. Even though Seymour Ford is about 60 miles from Flat Rock I didn't get delivery until mid August. The salesman offered me X-Plan pricing when he learned I worked for a Ford supplier. That made the decision easy, and I signed on the spot. Steady communication about my order was received. When I was in the market to replace an older F150, I went to Seymour Ford first. They looked and looked for me, but I managed to find a '04 Lightning to buy. Seymour Ford is the only place I take any of my cars for service, why? it's the people! Sounds simple, but it's hard to do. These people do it right, everytime.
