  1. Hello! May I please have an update on the progress on my new Expedition? VIN # - 1FMJU2AT0JEA0325 My dealer says the truck was built Nov. 1 and placed in "storage". Any insight on why that was done? You would think they would want to deliver vehicles that have been ordered to start collecting their money . . .

  3. Good morning! May I please have an update on the progress on my new Expedition? I'm only an hour an half from the plant so I know it's a truck shipment. Hoping it will be on a truck on it's way to my driveway very soon! VIN # - 1FMJU2AT0JEA03252 Much appreciated!
  4. Several Youtube videos out there of production and the launch event. Truck looks great! Getting harder to wait now these last couple of weeks! Any news from anyone at the plant? Neat features or nooks and cranny's people will be excited to discover??

  7. I still would be interested in hearing from someone who has the system and is using it today in a Ford. This would speak to akirby's point about perhaps the antennae is better and thus would be superior to using your phone as a hot spot. Personally when I have used a hotspot on my iPhone in the car its not been a great experience...
  8. To me the key will be if you can opt in and opt out easily. I would have no need for it 50 weeks out of the year, but those 2 weeks or so of vacation travel it would be nice to opt in and save the cell phone data plan. Absent that, I think I'd be likely to pass on the service.
  9. I am anxiously awaiting my 2018 Expedition. I am curious as to anyone's experience with the WIFI hotspot technology coming out of Ford now. How is the performance? What terms are you able to get from AT &T on rate and usage etc.? Are you able to set it up to only use it when you need it, i.e., long trips? How is the streaming? Multiple devices? Would be interested in some real world first hand experience with this technology. Thank you in advance!
  10. Good morning! Could you please track my order for a 2018 Expedition? This is a fleet order. The last time I ordered in 2014 there were some challenges in tracking due to a fleet order. I hope I have learned and will be better prepared this time! Attached is the DORA for my order. Below is the information that was requested I use when bumping the thread for an update on this type of order. I updated to the current order number. FIN Code: ZI767 Order #: 8782 Dealer Code: F47002 This is a great service. I have used it for several vehicles now. Great source of accurate information. Thank you! 2018 Expedition DORA.pdf
  11. Is there any update on production? Has the OK to buy been given? My order was placed in July. I'm still holding out hope that it will make in time for a Thanksgiving road trip!
  12. Does anyone know when we can expect an order guide for the 2011 Expeditions? Are they not usually out by now? (mid-June) Any ideas on potential changes from the '10 model?
  13. Woo hooo!!! Stick it on a truck and get it down here!! Thanks VP. let me know when it ships!!
  14. Bump back to page 1, hoping for an update as production begins 9/8!

  16. '08 LTD Standard 4WD All-Season 3.73 Avg City 15 Avg HWY 18 Moderate Recently completed a trip to FL, fully loaded include a cargo box on the back that weighed about 300 lbs. 4 tanks of gas, 18, 20, 19 & 17 (in a hurry to get home I guess . . .) First time I've ever had an Expy get 20 mph on a tank. Mine is only a month old, not 4K yet. Overall very pleased with the fuel economy on a vehicle of this size . . .
  17. Trish: Makes a little more sense now since you were backing up the hill. From this information it sounds like there may be nothing you can do that you haven't already figured out. Surge brakes are generally not associated with anything electronic especially on a boat trailer which is designed to get very wet. The fact that you had to get out to put a pin in to disable the actuator leads me to believe there is no electronic control to disable your surge brakes. Which leads us to the mysterious blue wire. If there is in fact a way to disable your surge brakes electronically I would have to believe you need more than one wire and there would definitely need to be a switch or control in the truck to trigger it. You wouldn't want this to be enabled every time you reverse thus you would need some sort of lockout mechanism, which would pretty much eliminate the truck coming pre-wired to do this for you automatically. Really this is a boat trailer issue and you might get more help on a boating board. Try GoBoatingAmerica.com, there are lots of knowledgeable folks there. Also, if this is a new boat and trailer, I would contact the dealer as they can probably answer the question quickly over the phone. If it's not, find a local boat dealer with a big maintenance operation and take it over there and show it to them. Nothing against U-Haul, but I believe you are correct about them and don't think they are going to be much help to you. Actually, I don't think they should have installed the adapter without asking a few questions. BTW most electric brake controllers run off the 7 pin set up. Good Luck! DJR
  18. I'm a little confused on your post. Do you have surge brakes or electric brakes? Surge brakes have nothing whatsoever to do with the wiring harness on your truck. The pressure exerted on the hitch ball by the forward momentum of the trailer triggers the hydraulic system to apply the brakes. This system will almost never apply itself in reverse. If you have electric brakes on your trailer, then most applications I have seen also include a brake controller mounted near the dash that regulates the brake application. There is usually an adjustment than can be made with a dial so that your brakes don't lock up when you "tap" them. The Expy is pre-wired for this set up, you should have a wire harness in a plastic bag under the floor next to your jack. This will plug in under the dash and the loose wires go to the aftermarket controller. I've had both set ups, electric for a toy hauler and surge for a boat. If you can clarify, maybe I can help.
  19. No sweat, I'm still trying to figure out my "rain lamps" !!!
  20. It does not display in the message center. It displays in your climate control screen. Press the EXT button on your climate control and it will display all the time. Your set temperature will only display when you adjust it in this mode.
  21. I would have to agree that something must be wrong. I pulled our boat this weekend with our '08 Limited and it was great. Got about 12 miles per gallon. Pulled much better than our '06 Eddie Bauer. Should mention that the boat & trailer weighs about 6000 lbs plus 6 people and gear in the truck. This was the first trip, overall very pleased.
  22. It was my understanding that all '08 Expy's from XLT on up would have the rainlamp (lights come on with the wipers) functionality as standard equipment. I can't tell if it's there or not. When I turn the wipers on, the lights don't come on right away. They do after a minute or so, but I can't tell if it's because of the rainlamp function or because the autolamps are detecting less light. When you turn the wipers off, the lights stay on for a while. My mom's Grand Cherokee has the option to turn on/off the rainlamps with the message center. At least you know it's there with this method. Can't find anything in the manual about them either, nothing under "rainlamp", "lights", "wipers" etc. I have an '08 Limited with all the toys, but how do I tell if I have rainlamps??
