  1. There goes Toyota/Lexus' "great" quality reputation :titanic: Now all we need is for people to figure out that Ford product quality is at the same levels as Toyota.
  2. I agree, although with the silvers and pearly colors it's harder to notice its a white roof
  3. wow, thats a pretty big incentive. I don't blame that dealer though, he probably wants to get that hideous Tundra off his lot as quickly as possible so he won't have to look at it
  4. I think Ford should put black Ford emblems on black painted limited models (maybe all limited models like Land Rover Supercharged models) i think it might look cool
  5. That's why I based the chop of the Navigator, to be more distictive from the F-150. Give it the Navigator interior too include the heated/cooled 10-way power front seats, why not even make the rear seats 10-way power heated/cooled w/ a center console/refrigerator, give rear passengers footrests (from Flex)(use that new F-150 cab that will supposedly be bigger than Mega Cab) a THX sound system, what about a power tailgate? I've also kept the power deployable running boards. Those options (and more) could make it a little different from the F-150. Why not go all out, using Ford parts bin stuff? I understand it's always going to be a niche market, but why not offer those few buyers features that aren't offered on any other truck? These options are all available on other Ford products as well, lowering costs.
  6. True, but IMO, the product designers should be able to figure out that designs (like Aztec) are hideous and won't sell. Don't they do focus groups (if thats what they're called) or show a car to a few customers to see what kind of reaction it gets (if they did, whoever they chose has no concept of a good looking car)?
  7. Wow :missing: Missing from truck buyers: Desire for a Tundra Toyota: "Help we can't give these Trucks away!!"
  8. Here's a chop of the 2009 Lincoln Mark LT (although it doesn't/won't exist) Hope everybody likes it. Thoughts?
  9. That's great news! :happy feet: :hyper: :banvictory:
  10. I understand why the Prius sells, I just don't understand why Toyota had to make it so ugly. I know the other vehicles don't sell near Explorer levels, my point was that they sell at all (b/c IMO they're ugly), I would never consider any of them (they're all Aztecs in my book)
  11. Also at least Ford recalled and fixed the vehicles, Toyota wouldn't have announced it, it would've been one of their voluntary recall or whatever they call it (or they would've told you there's nothing wrong), as to not damage their reputation. I wonder if a Tundra were to have some kind of cruise control fire, what kind of news coverage (if any) it would get.
  12. That's strange, I didn't think they were supposed to be out for a while, as you said. Well, if they're starting to get to dealer lots already, I would think thats good, they get to sell another new product (instead of the old Focus) alongside Ford's other new products, it fits in better with the rest of the lineup, too (it has a little bit of every car you know-designwise-). I think it should be a pretty good seller.
  13. So, for example, instead of McDowell it'd be "PcDowell" (pronounced "pic") b/c the name is scottish? Am I understanding that correctly? Not that it really matters, just curious
  14. Why do you all have to argue so much? It was arguments like these (although worse) that shut down the Autoweek Combustion Chamber. I'd hate to see BOF shut down (I don't know if it would happen) because of meaningless arguments.
  15. Well IMO if that hideous Toyota FJ (and other cars such as Prius, Element, xB, etc.) thing can sell, I think just about anything could sell. I liked the Bronco concept, it would make a great competitor to the Wrangler and FJ (they could make a 4 door version ala Wrangler Unlimited - it could take sales from other Ford SUVs but would you rather have that customer trade in their Explorer and buy a Toyota or trade it in on a Bronco) Now, on the Explorer, I think they did a good job with it, I personally think it looks nice, but they could have done more. Those door handles are kinda silly (they could even keep the door release handle where it is above the window switches, just the grab handle is in such an awkward place). They say the door is designed like that b/c of the safety bars (whatever their called), there isn't any room for the handle mechanism (no excuse for where the grab handle is) Who knows? maybe they arent able to put it somewhere else, given the door design. They should've been more aggressive with the new Explorer design. Sometimes they can be so afraid to put something different on the market that they end up coming out with a "bland" (although nice) car. On another note, I dont like how Ford is putting the turn signal stalk on a 45 degree angle like in the Explorer, I prefer the almost 90 degree angle found in the Expedition.
  16. I understand what you're saying, the styling needs to be different. You mentioned making the Explorer look like the Bronco concept, I don't think that would've worked either, I think it was designed to be a niche product, much like the FJ (which IMO is hideous). I'm not so sure the Bronco concept would've appealed to everybody. Maybe if you took some cues from the Bronco concept. I may be misunderstanding you though, you said something visually exciting, so you could just mean something that stands out (but not too much)?
  17. I know they wouldn't do it, I just thought it might be an interesting idea and wanted to see what you all thought
  18. this could be a new ad. The 2008 Super Duty It can't be beat. Built Ford Tough
  19. hahaha!! id like to see the vehicle that did squish it
  20. But you have to remember the F-150 is a 3-4 yr old design right now, the Tundra is brand new
  21. Thats why I said to keep the b-pillar. The gauge cluster on the 03-06 was LCD, why'd they go away from that. I read a review of the (07)Navi the other day and it was criticized for not having an LCD type display like competitors did
  22. If "selling well" means putting $5k on the hood out of the box, then yes, they're selling well.
