I think Ron Paul has a better chance of winning against Obama. Of course I am assuming the republicans will grow a set of balls and nominate an actual conservative and not a puppet.

I have been told the same from the Chairman at KCAP. I was told by him that they will likely have another round of offers to transfer shortly before the 3rd shift (if they have one at all) starts at LAP. This of course is only speculation on his part and should be treated as such.

I am still leaning towards transfering with the Escape. This is all good news for KCAP but, it still seems to me that LAP is the "favored son" in this one.

I kinda have mixed emotions about this one. I work at KCAP with 9 years in. Do I think it would be fair for someone from another plant that is 1000 miles away put me to the street? Well, no. But, at the same time. We have no fewer than 50 temps working and I believe a permanent employee should be able to bump them. It is my understanding that we can not use our senority over them to bump for shift prefence let alone bump them to the street. This is total bull shit.

Bush did this......Obama did that....blah blah blah fucking blah. Except for certian social issues there is really no difference between the two parties any more. None of them care about the American people unless they are getting paid to care. Facts are Bush was a mindless puppet. He got up and made bull shit speaches to forward the agenda of the insurance companies, oil companies and defence contractors. The only reason Obama got elected was because the people were sick of the "republican crap" and was looking for someone to change things. The democrats could have put anyone up against the republicans and they would have won. Now Obama, while not nearly as stupid as Bush, is still a puppet. Just like Bush....he only cares about the American people when it is profitable for him and/or his banker friends.

Well, Mulally made his appearance and once again....mum's the word. Basicly he stated he wasn't there to announce new product for KCAP. Then went on with the typical feel good bull shit. Talking about how great KC and how wonderful the qualilty is....blah blah blah. It just further imbedded my theory that managment and the UNION for that matter is just telling us just enough to keep us complacent untill the day comes when they turn the plant into a parking lot.

Internation Union is the UAW's version of Washington......Lieing is in their blood and addressing the memberships concerns is a last priority.

Hell...they guys in Kentucky have even gave us our own "KCAP room" on there message forum. That is how sure they are we are closing down and moving there.

I think this is standard at all ford plants. Just last week at KCAP we lost power to the whole plant do to a storm. I talked to an electrician who explained to me that the plant is powered by two feeds. The power distrabution equipment in the plant is supposed to "sence" if it looses power from one of the feeds and automaticly switch to the other. However, because of managment we have in the plant. Preventaive maintenance is a bad word and the system failed. We lost 8 hours of production. To make matters worse the managment kept us there all night while skilled traides scrammbled to get the plant on line.

Im not in the truck system. But, I belive it is the same as the SUV side. 62 per hr.

We had ours at KCAP also. They passed out flyers saying it was going to be a "town hall" meeting. I saw no microphones for us and they gave us no chance to ask questions. The one question I have.... We are being compaired to our competion as far as how much our wages and benifits cost the company....Which I belive is a fair assesment. However, there is never any mention that our competiors excutives make around a third less than a Ford excutive. When are our excutives going to level up their wages and benifits to match the competion?

Yeah.....we have temps. Rumor has it (take that as you will) that they plan to hire 200 more.

I work at KCAP. I am being bumped to the C crew. I really don't mind because I will be home with my kids 5 nights a week...it is probably the closest thing to day shift I will see for some time to come. The only real draw back to the C crew I see is the fact I may end up getting forced to move to the truck side shit hole when they end the C crew. I spent 5 years over there and yes it is a shit hole. Yes, we are very fortunet to not have to deal with lay-offs over and over again like the other plants in the system....Atleast till that pile of shit called the Transit gets here....but thats for another post. I think that what many people at KCAP are really pissed about is the fact the rules are being changed to suit the labor reps friends and family. One utility can sign off there classification and the others can't. They are going run the reliefe routs on one shift and not the others. They won't allow senior people to go to A or B crew but, they have temps on those shifts.....WTF!!!!

I really hope you are right!!!!! But, it is extreamly difficult to be optamistic through all this shit.
