  1. I have had my 08 FEH DRLs turned on. It took a trip to 2 dealers to get it done. I made it as a simple request to the first one and I got back the standard answer "Not Equipped". I went to a 2nd Dealer where I am friends with the Service Advisor. She had her Tech bring his laptop into the service aisle and hook up to it. This was for experimentation and to reprogram the PCM with a "ICE runnign rough" update. The Tech and I started looking on the laptop for the option. I believe we went into personality and it came up with a windows "SPLAT" that said essentially said, do not proceed past this point except at your own risk etc. I blessed him and told him to go forth young man. We found DRL and various other options that would have never crossed my mind of turning off nor did I desire (PAX Airbag, Seatbelt chime). So we enabled DRL and did the PCM update. Word of warning, the car is super smart. The update got loaded, but no headlights. They only come on when the car is in Drive. So we initially thought we did nothing, but we really did.
  2. the 09 SES comes without the chrome Fender Vents. My wife has Sangria Red and wanted the vents on it. So I bought them and did a minor Mod and put them on. Car looks pretty sharp with the vents on it. Actually, it made her "Happy". Thank God I can do something right!!
  3. Amtracking: My wife had the same issue. She has driven 01 Ford Expedition for 7 years and and Explorer before that. She likes the big vehicles. I get tagged because I get the new vehicles. Mainly because I do all the driving. she NEVER drives if I am going with her. But at $80/tank for the Expedition, it was getting too much. So we looked at the best economical vehicles. I had just bought back in Dec and Jan a Prius and Corolla LS for the parents. So she looked and looked at the Focus. We went and drove one. Then we started looking at the options. We were originally focused on the 08 Focus and found a Blue SES. Her first choice was Blue. We test drove a 09 Sangria Red SE. She saw an 08 Red SE. The difference being the 08 is more Candy apple red. So that became second choice in color and then black. I had found a blue 08 about 250 miles away. So we decided on car, then I decided to get our 200K 01 Expedition to Car Max in Jax for appraisal, we live in Gainesville. Anyhow, I started calling the dealerships to find out about 09. I found 09 Red SES on the truck. We work in seperate towns, so we meet and went look. It has everything short of ESC noted on the sticker, but the VIN says different. Either way, it is just a go to work car. But might use for trips too. I ask her every night if she likes her car and she says yes. I think she likes Sync most of all. But bear in mind she is a computer programmer. She is still having withdrawals over the truck issue. But she loves the benefit at the pump and chuckles when we fill it up at $30/tank. Don't tell the wife it is a Borg car and she will be assimilated.
  4. Thanks for the comments. I just can't see not having them on the car especally since the indentations are there already. If it was a smooth fender, I would pass the issue buy. To me, it makes the lines cleaner. The funniest thing about the car is that it has the SES logo on the back and it is upside down. Wife made me write it into the deal that the SES stays upsde down. Might as well have a unique car.
  5. We bought out 09 Sangria Red SES w/ leather last Tuesday. We had a dealer friend do a locate and the locator said dealer had one. Had the salesman at that dealership searching. it was on the truck still. So he calls me back and tells me it is #2 to come off the truck. We get there and test drive it, still in the wrap. The downside to the whole deal is my 01 Green Expedition with 200K only got me $1K. I was very depressed. Also drove it down to Shipmax to get appraised and we had the same amount. So I bit my pride. Skip forward to today, we made the decisions of what options we want. This will be the wife's car. She wants the chrome grills on the side. We looked at an SEL, but did not want that MUCH chrome. So my dealer is ordering the grills for me. We are also doing the bg guard and mud flaps. Overall l like the car, it is a nice addition to the family with my 08 FEH. The nice part is the mileage is a wash between the two cars for highway driving.
  6. Not Rude at all. If not knowing a concensus on pricing, we could all be taken to the cleaners. I pulled my paperwork and I paid $71.40 for $97.75 List on the part. It shows as accuator assembly (7L2Z-14A626*BA). The dealership charged me $44 to install it. I am not yet comfortable to go digging under the dash, yet. It came with both pieces and I had a local body shop use the paint code and they painted the primed part for me. It licks like it is OEM on the car.
  7. Also, one thing we found out at last moment. The Keyless Entry is absent on the Escape. However, my dealer was able to add it for about $145.00. The kit comes with a molding that is able to be painted to match the truck. It looks like the truck was born with it.
