  1. When are the UAW locals voting on the new contract? When should the voting be done with final results available? Just an interested CAW member asking as we restart our talks with the company on Oct. 26.
  2. You are a complete TOOL. What you post is bullsh@t
  3. reading Trim's posts The day Trim leaves OAC: :pig: OR :rip:
  4. A million a year for the fitness center! That must be the gold standard of corporate fitness centers. What are the facilities and equipment?
  5. As sales pick up, Ford will have to reintroduce a third shift in their body and paint dept. This will result in approx 500 jobs.
  6. Don't forget that there are over 1000 on layoff now in Windsor too. We would have first rights to those jobs in Oakville if they would come up before St. Thomas closed. If after it would be by company seniority.
  7. The program will focus on the PRODUCT, NEW TECHNOLOGY AND THE HIGH QUALITY. I doubt they will pay much attention to the negotiations between Ford and the UAW and CAW. The more the general public are informed that Ford is not the Ford of ten years ago and what we have to offer now, the better for the company and its' employees. Have a Good Day, EHH!!

  9. Trim, take your medication. You have lost it. All you do is ramble on about COLA, Hyperinflation, prices of commodities. These things are the furthest topics on the minds of the vast majority of autoworkers at the moment. It is obvious that you have the seniority not to worry about your job. I am close to my 3rd anniversary of the day I walked out of Ford/Nemak's Essex Aluminum Foundry not knowing when I would be back to work allowing to support my family and contribute to the economy. I was hopeful when I got the call for a transfer to Oakville, but that lasted for less than 90 days and again I walked out of the plant gate on my last day with a gut wrenching feeling not knowing when or if ever I will be employed at Ford Motor Company. So, when I read your ramblings on here (and I have kept me feelings bottled up about your posts for some time)it is obvious that you have lost sight of the big picture and do truly only care about yourself(BANK ACCOUNT). Retire, enjoy the last years of your life(if you have one) and your family(if they still talk to you).
  10. More specifically, since OAC turned down the last contract, what is the mood IN YOUR PLANTregarding possible concessions. It will not pass in Windsor if we do not get new work. 1000 on layoff now with another net 400-600 more with the closure of Windsor Engine in 2011 and reopening of Essex Engine.
  11. This thread is way off topic. What is the word on the floor at OAC regarding the contract negotiations. I can't believe that the company has the balls to ask for concessions at the same time they are offering nothing in return but closure for St. Thomas and possibly Windsor Engine.
  12. There is talk on other threads on this site that a stretched version of the TAURUS will be the replacement for fleet sales and as well that GM's Australian division HOLDEN Motors is developing its Commodore for possible export to the North American market for the Police fleet market. GM Aussie POLICE CARS FOR NORTH AMERICA
  13. How are talks progressing with the UAW and Ford. Here in Canada Ford wants the same concessions as the Canadian divisions of Chrysler and GM attained during the bailout negotiations. But they do not want to commit to keep a proportional presence in Canada as GM and Chrysler Canada have agreed to. In fact in the next two years St. Thomas Assemblys product is finished (the GM/CV/TC) and Windsor Engines 5.4L Triton Engine is finished with no new product allocated to either plant. If those two plants are closed or idled Ford of Canada will be down to about 4000 hourly employees (production and trades) down from about 15000 from the good days in the early 2000's. If it pans out this way Ford of Canada will be smaller than GM, Chrysler, Toyota and Honda of Canada. Ford now has a larger proportional market share in Canada than it has in the US. They want to sell here but don't want to commit to produce here. I can't see how they expect to have a concessionary contract ratified by the membership with no new product allocation. They want their cake and eat it too without leaving crumbs for the hungry employees.
  14. Which engine plants in NA will be producing the 1.6 and 2.0L EcoBoost engines. I read that the company may import them from the UK engine plants at first or will they be the only global suppliers of these engines.
  15. I was one of the guys who transferred to Oakville for a short stint from July to October of 2008. How is it going at OAC. What are your daily production numbers? At what point would it be necessary to put body and paint back on three shifts. Any more retirements coming up? Just asking. I don't think that I will be back to work at a Windsor plant anytime soon. So just wondering if OAC will need any transfers in the future. Thanks.
  16. With over 1000 on layoff in Windsor and with Windsor Engine Plants product ( the 5.4l V8) finished by early 2011 without new product being allocated to Windsor (and STAP), I doubt a new concessionary contract will pass.
  17. You are right my mistake, McColeman is your plant chairperson. He is an asshole, even your brothers and sisters who worked there for years say so. When I asked him about the rumours about us being let go, he chuckled and said yeah you guys are done. What kind of remark and attitude is that to show people who thought they saw the light at the end of the tunnel after a two year layoff left their families behind or moved their homes up and then to be told they are done with an attitude that's too bad for you. He should have showed some compassion and said we are trying everything we can to keep you guys and if not we will go after Ford for their mistake(the company and union knew we were done even before we got there and kept us in the dark until the last minute, after many bought homes or signed leases). He is not capable or respectful of the position he holds. By the way Edsel get out from under McColemans desk.
  18. A cheap shot? If you could ask anyone who transferred from Windsor to Oakville their opinion of Mc Coleman their response would not be as restrained as mine. Even the leadership at Local 200 has a vendetta against McColeman for how we were treated by Local 707. Why did several people have to contact local 200 to have their Oakville concerns to be dealt with when are dues were going to local 707. Pathetic represtation by 707. I never seen our President Mike Vince as angry as I saw him at our layoff meeting at the local 707 hall. I have to give Mike props becuase he bit his tounge during the meeting. He was a class act. I would have chewed out McColeman there. I did speak my mind as several other transfers did but all McColeman did was smile. He did not give a sh#t about what happened to us. Also while there at OAC I did not heear one good thing about McColeman from the existing membership. They all said he was a loser and he was a one term president. Where in my posts can you infer that I am anti-union? Not at all.
  19. No, it is not a typo. I have been in a union since I started working after highschool when i was 17. Scott(y) McColeman in my opinion is not responsible or respective of his membership to hold his position. He is an embarrasement to the CAW, especially local 707. He hopefully will have his downfall at the next election. If you do not have anyone suitable to take his place, then that is just too bad for OAC and local 707.
  20. I was only at OAC for three months before being let go and returning to layoff on the Windsor seniority list. The impression I got from Ken was he is a company man but is also fair to his people. I haven't met many plant managers like Ken at Ford who are as approachable as he is. OAC loss is LAP gain. Now only if you can transfer McColeman that would definetly be your gain.
  21. You are the only one I hear talking about hyper-inflation. Do you have any links to articles to back this up. I think you are one greedy mofo who is crying about not getting more money in your paycheck. Shake your head. Thousands in the auto industry have lost their jobs(I am one of them)and are desperately trying to survive on a much reduced income. You need to keep a perspective of the real issues, stimulating the economy, creating real and sustainabe jobs and FAIR TRADE. COLA is something to negotiate in better days.
  22. IN addition, Chigaco is also producing the Lincoln MKS.
  23. Chicago was awarded the next generation Explorer (based on the Explorer America Concept). With them producing the New Tuarus, do not worry about them taking any production from OAC. Here is a thought. What if Chrysler does go bankrupt. How long would it take Ford to revive Freestar production at OAC, if it could still produce it there.
