  1. I have family near Quincy, IL. Is there any nice affordable areas to live SW of the Chicago plant? Hour drive or less?

  4. I seen one sitting at Gorno Ford just before we went out on shutdown. It was probably a demo they have so people can see it before they get them in to sell. If I get by there today I will see if it is still there.
  5. Since Ford sold thier controlling stock shares in Mazda they do not have veto power and final decision making for Mazda. Mazda will most likely pull out now that they have the final say where thier products are built. AAI will likely get the new Interceptor that will be replacing the crown vic. The next generation Mustang and the Interceptor are on the same platform. The plant in Canada now building the crown vic is scheduled to close. Mazda has wanted thier own plant for a while.

  7. When are they bringing in the people that sign up for the transfer to DTP? Do they train C crew on another shift for a week or two? Thanks

  9. I don't believe anything the INTERNATIONAL says until it actually happens. You would think they would let the St.Louis people transfer to KCAP because they want to transfer out of state. This would free up some flowback space at AAI for the people who do not want to relocate out of state from SE Michigan. You would think the Union and the company would help these people get back near there families. HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE.

  11. This is correct. There is a letter of intent in the National Agreement that gives AAI St.Louis transfers rights to KCAP as there basic unit. The INTERNATIONAL said just a couple weeks ago when they were here at AAI that St.Louis transfers will have the oppurtunity to go to KCAP but no exact date as of yet. I hear this summer. I heard this staight from the IUAW (C.B.). The Return To Basic Unit people from what I am told are priority before JSP or ACH plants that are being closed or sold. If this will actually happen in this order I don't know but the St.Louis people will get a chance to transfer to KCAP at some point. KCAP Escape assembly will likely get a line speed increase or third shift adding some jobs sometime this summer. The INTERNATIONAL can overide their vote not to add a third shift on if the demand exceed them keeping up with all the Saturdays they agreed to work.
