Also, when should we file for unemployment? I am NOT leaving it up to Ford this time.

I am hearing rumors that we are laid off next week due to parts shortages from the snow ravaged south.

I was able to talk to with someone at the UIA office and my unemployment is now taken care of and will be deposited by Monday! I will NEVER again trust Ford Motor Co. to handle unemployment benefits on my behalf! Aren't elections coming up soon?

It was from the state. Maybe we should all go the local Michigan Works office and find out what is going on.

The union cannot change the way the state is handling unemployment claims.

We will not get one until the 30th, but supposedly we will be able to call Marvin on the 23rd anyway.....which does not make any sense. So when should we file our own claim, at the end of each week or at the end of the 2 week lay off period?

I was able to certify today online. Turns out that G.M. had the same issue so it wasn't FoMoCo after all!

Some people have been able to make claims, but many have not been able to. I have heard that the union is working with the UIA so we can claim three weeks back instead of just two next week.

So when we call or log onto MARVIN and it asks if we are claiming the week ending November 9th or the week ending November 16th, then how are we supposed to answer when we were laid off the week ending November 2nd??

SU-FI....Standing ovation! Obviously Little Country does not have kids in college! I was just questioning the three week waiting period law. Does it really exist? This is not about who can survive the longest without a paycheck, it is about finding out if the 11/18 date is the correct date for us to file for unemployment benefits. If it is, then fine. But if it is not, then Ford needs to get it fixed.
